I backed up without looking at what was to the side of the truck this fall and pushed in the corner of the front bumper pretty good. The F-150s have no plastic--it's a painted steel bumper so they're not cheap. The only positive is the original had a lot of paint chips from the previous winter and it has a new OEM replacement now and fortunately the damage was isolated to there and I didn't crack an expensive headlight or anything.

That's one big reason why I opt for the chrome package when I buy a truck with a steel bumper. The chrome holds up to rocks a lot better than regular body paint does. I could care less about the shiny look.

I wish I could bring myself to do it--I just hate chrome. It would make it easier, I think I want a Lariat next time if I can get one for a decent price and there are very few SuperCab Lariat Sports--probably because there isn't much market for a high trim level extended cab truck apart from old men who want Chrome. They're easier to find in SuperCrews with 5-1/2 ft beds, but I have no interest in a minivan truck.

    Nicely done!

What else has been happening since I have been gone? I was sledding in Northern Maine and New Brunswick for the past week. They got some snow up there let me tell you!

Glad to see you made it back; we had 3 snowmobilers snuff themselves this weekend alone, apparently.

    Nice?!?!

It’s February and you’re in Mass. You should have at least 3’ of snow now:rofl:.

I grew up in N Reading and we could skate on frozen lakes and ponds back in the day (1970s).

this year has been weird for snow. I’m in RI so already we don’t get nearly as much as even reading. There’s a whole different climate we’re typically south of the rain snow line. Thanks cape cod maybe?

but I drove up to Portland (and bath) this weekend and back. I didn’t see snow until like. Wells. That’s the weirdest I’ve ever seen it. We got next to no snow this year. Might be a dry year this year good time to plant some clover instead of grass.
