The Ranger seemed really small when I sat it one, like narrower than my Tacoma. Also, not thrilled about the engine offerings at the moment, I think it's only the 4 banger ecoboost.
I've been watching the incentives just for shiggles and keeping an eye out for a diesel (pipe dream, doubt I'd jump even if the money worked but never hurts to look). The problem is, the used vehicles aren't marked down any more because they bought them before this shit show started. All the really good incentives are on the new vehicles and I can't shell out $50k for a new truck, I'll lose my shirt on the trade it.

The 7.3 gas V8 though... That'd be a sweet machine to have sitting in the driveway

i didn’t mind the interior. I’d get the ranger in the extended cab though the crew cab looks silly in the mid size.

Used isn’t the same market it used to be. So many blog posts about how sweet a deal a two year used car is, everyone gets them now. Good for the new market it drives resale but the used market isn’t worth it sometimes. Tacoma and wrangler for example. I can only assume the gladiator will hold value well too.

Saw 6 separate accidents/cars off the road on my way home this evening, 5 of them just on my road. The roads were crappy, but not that crappy. My rear tires are about due for replacement (4/32nds) and I never had to switch to 4x4, just took it easy on the throttle. Amazing how fast some people forget how to drive in the snow.
    I-95 wasn't too bad, though.

One of the Toyota dealers up my way has about $6k off Tundras and toyota has the 0.9% for 60 months finance, its very tempting to go talk to them

I've been toying with the idea of putting an aftermarket exhaust on the Ferd. Nothing obnoxious or that will drone in the cab when towing, not looking to piss off the neighbors every day when I leave at 5 AM, just a little sound. Not naive enough to think it'll add power or torque, just a sexier tone. I had a Gibson Supertruck exhaust on my old Silverado (loudest exhaust they made at the time), not looking to repeat. I love the sound of the engine, it's not uncommon for me to take a long trip without the radio and just listen to the engine. Any opinions on why I should or shouldn't? I'm looking the Gibson side swept exhaust, exits in stock location, keeps the factory resonators which will keep the drone out of the cab.

Jeez, the big 3 are all doing 0% for 84 now! Figures Toyota would be the hold out. Still, 0.9% for 60 is pretty damn good!

With all the mark downs on new vehicles, I wonder if the trade in values will take a dive. I checked KBB on my truck and it was a LOT lower than I would have expected. Says my trade in would be under $30k. When I was looking at the Chevy half ton diesel a few months back, it was much higher. I wonder if KBB is adjusting things down based on what's going on.

BB King's Bluesville, channel 74. But it's jazz month so they've also been playing a lot of jazz-centric blues lately.

I'm a big fan of the sound of a Flowmaster 50 with a long set of pipes behind it, especially on a larger-displacement V8. Nice and deep, but not obnoxiously loud.

What I'm considering is essentially the Gibson equivalent of the Flowmaster 50. I like the tone of Gibson a little bit better and really like the look of the system. Also, the Flowmaster kit with the 50 series can is a dual exhaust either both coming out on either side of the receiver or one coming out stock location, the other mirroring on the driver side. It sort of hangs awkwardly low though and I'm not a fan of the look (and I won't put duals out the back because it will just spit on the camper the entire time I'm towing).

everyone got used to no snow driving and then surprise. Some people probably put summer tires back on.

I’m slightly grumpy I bought my truck in December now. 5.8 for 72.

honestly if it was 0/84 when I was looking I’d potentially be in a ranger, but most likely an f150 right now.

As said I feel like a chump now with my current setup. Wonder if it’s worth it to refinance an auto loan.

5.69 just looked it up. With a decent rebate on the front end price. And it was a 2020 in December so I paid a little strong even without considering the virus stuff. Not my smartest financial move. That being said it would have cost me more to keep the Mazda going, that car needed a loooot of little things all at once parts alone was about 3k and wouldn’t have affected trade in/sale value at all. Made more sense to pitch it. And human factor, I wanted the Tacoma.

Go to a credit union and have them refinance it. Almost always infinitely better, usually all you need to do is open an account with them and pay it out of said account.

X2, I'm lower on a used vehicle loan through a credit union. I think I'm in the 2's for 60 months on mine. I bought a 2019 used. They dropped half a percent once I set up auto pay.

Perhaps you and your slightly crazy neighbor should wait for him one day with some piano wire around throat length...

It's an improvement, I'll give you that!!

Anything with a v-8 in it is already loud enough, I can hear them coming down the highway from a half mile away. You might think it's not loud to you, but everyone outside your truck can hear it just fine. Anything with a v-6 sounds like shit with a pipe, with a few small exceptions I've seen from Borla.

I'm not against getting one, that's everyones choice, I just don't think driving around loud like a harley is a fun way to spend my time .

Used vehicles are fucked, my wifes 4 runner is getting offers of 22k and she has a 16' with everything and barley 60k miles. Was around 30k about two months ago...

Dealer I talked to said auctions are dead, no one is buying shit, so they can't really offer anything good.

Yeah, I never understood the exhaust thing either. I like quiet power, especially when it's my daily driver.

I ran the KBB numbers on this truck and I definitely lost some from a few months ago too--$22,500 right now for a 2018 with 50k and just about every possible option on an XLT.

Oh man, the last thing I want to do is make it sound like a Harley! The system I'm looking at is marginally louder than stock, just a deeper tone. The Flowmaster 50 that Noel mentioned is the quietest muffler they make for trucks. I don't want a head turner for the reason of being loud, this is just for my own driving experience enhancement :D

Gotta throw up some before and after sound clips!

The noise thing is a topic I struggle with in my own life and head. I love loud music, and I love to have my stereo up, but every once and a while I catch myself and realize I am probably looking like the idiot I talk shit about and half to real it in a little bit :ballchain: Exhaust is the same to me, and just like a stereo system, if done with the right products it can be great...but with shitty stuff you just look like an asshole rattling around the town:rofl:
