I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
Thats what I do but half rain-x, half prestone. Full strength rain-x stains the paint on the wifes car and I'm affraid it might do it on the truck too. Mine was frozen today though.

Question for you guys. I had 3 trucks lined up to take a look and all of them backed out or never responded to me:mad:. So my question is how many miles should I buy the truck with it. Most I'm seeing are 100k to 130k miles on the truck. Is that to much. I know I was gonna get a truck with somewhat high millage. Of course Im gonna check the frame and ill that jazz but Just wanted your point of views please. Thanks guys and stay inside on this cold day.

It depends on how they were kept. You don't want a truck with 100k that has been hammered fuck. Someone who has all their records and receipts usually is someone who took care of their truck. Just judge what the person selling it is like.

Well thanks for the infor mike :). I'm getting one from the dealer I hope so I can make sure it was well maintained. Now I know what to look for. I remember when I brought my first jeep. I never look at anything and then paid 4k in repairs lol. Good good I'm more aware this time lol. At 16 I just wanted a SUV lol.

Haha. Well I kind if like keeps but they don't like me. The second one I got cost 5k in repairs cause I never checked the car fax and it had a huge front end crash so I was fucked the minute I brought it lol. It was bad.

My wiper fluid was frozen too. Only like 3 drops on my rear window... I'll add the Prestone alcohol later when I get home

I bought my truck in June with 98k on it in June.... P/O had a bunch of receipts for it, but not a ton. Mechanically it wasn't in bad shape, but it was filthy. All of the major mechanical things checked out on it before I bought it. Once I got it I changed all the fluids tranny, xfer case, front diff, rear diff, oil (duh!), greased all spots that needed grease and gave it a good douching so it was nice and clean. Haven t had any issues so far and its at 104k now. Came across some real rust buckets when I was looking, stay away from anything with rust under it.

Dealer had low balled this guy so he thought the truck wasn't worth anything, ended up getting it cheap because of that. Thats what you got to look for. IF you get it from the dealer it is going to be more expensive just because its on a lot. At that point they don't have any warranty coverage unless the dealer throws something in so its almost worth it to buy private party.

    Hey guys...quick question...

I have a set of the 5 lug Tundra Rock Warrior wheels (TRD Forged) with BFG KO ATs 285/70R17 tires (33's). 8k miles on everything.
    17x8 +50mm offset. Wheels weigh 24lbs each. W/ tires around 80lbs.

Comes with TPMS sensors & factory spline Lug nuts w/ locking nuts.
I have extra lug socket & 4 extra lug nuts if the buyer doesn't want to use the locking nut.
These were not used in salt & I am storing them now...no curb rash, very well, scratches, plugs, cuts etc. Highway driving.

Do you think getting $1200 is unreasonable??
I have had guys wanting me to drive 4 hrs & take a grand.
Or too many miles??? Should I buy a tire gauge & measure depth?

Right now in VT it is a hard sell everyone has winter tires on, too cold, salt or no money.
Storing them is not a problem but mainly want to know if my price is too much?
Any insight is appreciated. thanks in advance.

I think that's a good price. BFG A/T's go for over $250/tire if they were to buy them new (probably a bit more in that size). 8k miles is nothing for those tires as long as they aren't wearing unevenly. Those are also a premium OEM wheel and you're including TMPS (those stupid sensors are $$$$). I do not think $1,200 is unreasonable at all, especially if you're driving to sell them. All that being said, location, location, location. They're only worth what the local market will bear. Personally, I wouldn't drive that far to sell anything, but that's just me. I've been willing to meet people on planned trips but that's as far as I go.

Have you tried Craigslist or a Tundra forum?

It has for me in the past. I just use Rain-x from the little bottle and apply it that way.

With the alcohol in it, it works well dude

I forget what stuff I have. It's orange, but not rain-x brand. I doesn't freeze and it'll wash off of the paint without staining. Might be Prestone de-icer, but not sure...

I have them listed on both CL & Tundratalk.
It is good to know I am in the ballpark.
Tire wear is even. They ride nice.
I will wait it out.... thanks!
