I could argue with you about it being the worst car in the world. Had a Pontiac Phoenix one time. I wish that thing would have caught on fire to see if it would rise from the ashes but then again, it never had enough spark to fire up the engine much less catch on fire!

We think we are going head south to drive through blue ridge and Smokey mountains, head towards Gulf of Mexico, swing by the Grand Canyon, get to west coast head up and then come on back home with a stop in desert. We are thinking around 3 weeks, give it take a few days shorter or extra. Stage one of the plan was completed yesterday with the purchase of a 4Runner.

COME ON OVER! You wouldn't believe the traffic from NY,VT, CT etc... Plus, where I live its on the boarder and people cross every damn day, all day long. Come spend some money friend.

Lots of states and governors getting sued and losing. Look at WI and MI. These lock downs being extended is a violation in most areas and not authorized by any laws on the books. We need to not forget our freedoms and rights during this time.

You give it up, its twice as hard to ever get back. Remember, this started as a "flatten the curve" and now is rapidly turning into "we can't ever move again until a vaccine" .

I know this is a delicate topic and not everyone agrees with me, so this will be my only comment on this!

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I just got some new tires and platform pedals for my very old mountain bike. I'm turning it into my fire road/camping bike. Now to find out what that noise is in the rear end.

I know Pines Market in Eustis relies quite a bit on tourism from riders and hunters, and riding normally opens up Memorial Day weekend

Well I mean growing up in Old Orchard, you're open for a weekend here or there before Memorial Day, then you have memorial day weekend which is Friday through Monday, but then it dies down again and you're slow basically until 4th of July weekend. Rule of thumb you are busy July 1st through August, 61 days, plus memorial day weekend - the entire "season" in Old Orchard Beach is 65 days, the rest of the season is break even usually for Old Orchard - not like the rest of Maine.

Losing just memorial day weekend is 6% of the year. And that's assuming every day is equal, which memorial day/holidays spike so it's probably closer to 10% of their year.

Went out after turkeys yesterday. Super windy but after a bit of wandering around I managed to find a spot that was a little more sheltered. Didn't have any luck with birds, but did have a visitor about 45 minutes in.

I think we're starting to get to a point where people are saying "Screw it, everyone's going to get the virus whether we're shut down or not, hospitals can handle it, it's not as bad as we previously thought, keeping us shut down is going to be horrible. People are going to die whether we lock it down or not, so let's let 'er rip!

Sweeet. I need new pedals for mine, and I'm in the planning stages of a 1 by conversion. Mines only about 10 years old though, Motobecane hard tail.

If they are not letting folks cross the Canadian border, it doesn’t matter much then. The Bar Harbor area is starting to push in state tourism, even some places offering, pay what you can for staying,

My opinion of Baker drops by the day. Other states have solid plans, he came out with an incredibly vague chart days ago and yesterday said he's giving no detail until the day phase one begins. NY split up reopening their state acknowledging that NYC was different from Lake Placid. Baker treats this side the same as Boston even though we have barely seen any new cases in weeks.

I also don't understand the infatuation with the phrase "new normal" after a vaccine. What, exactly, is supposed to be different at that point?

I'll stop there too so I don't get too political.

We have a family camp in Ellsworth and my whole entire extended family and ours goes every year. Right now no one knows if they will go. We can go in our minds because we own a house there and they can’t stop us from going to it. BUT if we get there and can’t do anything, why go?

the wife and I made reservations for a weekend on the beach for July, they were canceled and refunded a week or so ago without us wanting to cancel.

I think Maine’s commuting suicide honestly, but it isn’t my problem and the family camp will still be there next year and I’m guessing things will look more like when I was a boy. No economy outside of mardens and the gas stations.

@js312 100%. I could go on and on but all I’d get is a ban hammer

At least OOB, it was basically a 50/50 split for Canadian tourists. Yeah if they shut that border through August they're screwed. I never made it to MDI in the summer.

He and others are waiting for RI results to see if we spike in cases or not. We're the guinea pigs. Maine is shutting down because if they open their travel guidelines, they'll see a swarm of tourists and would likely become a hot spot. I think Baker and the rest of the area are waiting to see what happens with RI.

Honestly, it's about damn time the NY politicians finally acknowledged that the upper 99% of the state is different from the lower asshole of the state. Population-wise, NYC has run the state but a lot of the crap they come up with doesn't apply to the very rural areas.

I love the term 'new normal'. I'll keep social distancing for the rest of my life for people I just flat out don't want to deal with and use that as the excuse!

I wonder what New Yorkers think of their governors executive order to force nursing homes into taking covid suspected patients.

Killed a lot of people. Might hurt his chance of replacing Biden?
