The number of times I've had my truck in the air all four wheels removed, supported by just two pairs of these...

Yeah I don’t trust anything that lifts or supports my truck or vehicle from HF. I use them for the first time I need something but for lifting and supporting, no thanks.

They're pretty damn solid and don't look any different from vatozone ones, or any others for that matter. I'd actually say they're nicer than the 3 ton autozone set I have. And the 3 ton high lift jack I have from HF is a straight copy of the snap on one and is actually very nice. For the time being i'm still going to use them. #safetythird

Their hand tools and power tools can be pretty junk. But the jackstands and jacks are actually decent. I also have had good luck with their wood working clamps, at least for my use. I'm not using them heavily, but they are waaay less than equivalent ones from HD, Lowes etc...

I have one of their aluminum floor jacks and I like it a lot. I do have some of their jackstands too, but not the models recalled. The ones I use most of the time are Torins.

I hate getting under a vehicle that's up on stands, freaks me out. I try to block the bottom up on lumber so the extensions aren't that tall so, if it does fail like the HF ones, it hopefully wouldn't come all the way down. Also makes it so the corners of the jack stands can sink into the asphalt and tip over.

I always keep the jack under the truck with very light pressure as well. Thankfully oil changes I can almost sit up under the truck without lifting it into the air

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
My 6 ton stands are from HF. IDK if they are the ones being recalled or not. I don't think they are though, cause there the older orange ones.

I’m paranoid. If I’m not under the truck ie rotating Tires, fine. If I’m under there, it’s on stands plus I have railroad ties a bit under the height of the stands as a fail safe. And if I’m only lifting up one side at a time I’ll use the other two stands as a second backup too.

Probably couldn't hurt to look into since the recall for the 6 ton starts in 2013. Unless yours are even older than that haha

I was saying on top of using stands I keep the jack under the truck. 3 ton jack and 5 ton stands

I agree, I try to do the same if I'm under the truck. I use ramps for oil changes on my wife's car. I can move pretty freely under the truck so I don't use anything for those oil changes, it's pretty awesome!

Just checked, my 6 ton stands are not one of the part #'s affected. Good thing cause I was probably going to continue using them anyways....

A couple of guys have been traveling out there the past couple of months, so yes I believe they are open. The last trip I saw was about 2 weeks ago.

yup I was out there with a few people a few weeks ago. Apparently the day before we went (we went Sunday) there was a RI DEM truck at the power lines. But as far as like mud/season yeah they’re open. Probably going in a few weeks once my sliders are painted and installed.

anybody ever add a crossbar or two to a round side rail? aka a cargo basket? Thinking about trying to mount my kayak cradles to the basket on my cap
