I miss the flat floor on my F150. The Ram has fold-out platforms to flatten it, but it's not the same.

Edit- on the other hand, the 'beer cubbies' in the floor are a really convenient spot to store straps, tie-downs, etc.

    Morning all. Happy Thirsty Thursday!

@jethro- I don't suppose you want to bring that giant-ass sled trailer to Lewiston tonight, do you?

We're making a last trip up to Milbridge to finish moving everything out of the Grandparent's house on Friday night. We were going to use the dump trailer but now the forecast is for rain so I'm looking at renting an enclosed unit.

Oh man, it would take an act of congress to empty my sled trailer. All my ice fishing gear is in there and it becomes a storage shed for the summer.

I'm basically a painter/ landscaper now. Picked up a free used swingset about a month ago. Replaced a few boards, replaced the deck framing and re-decked with composite, then stripped and stained the whole thing. Wife found some cheap used turf from a soccer facility that was replacing it during the 'Rona. After moving 2000# of commercial grade turf ( pro tip reciprocating saw with metal blade cuts through the thick rubber like butter...) the kids play area is no longer a mud pit anytime it rains. Now the wife wants to do the whole yard in turf...20200624_172409.jpg 20200624_120546.jpg 20200708_203017.jpg

I wasn't serious anyway; I've already got a rental lined up that I'm picking up on my way North tomorrow after work.
Cassie's uncle has an enclosed trailer and it's the same way; during the summer he just parks it behind his house and leaves the sleds, spare tanks, etc. in the trailer rather than cluttering up his garage with it.

Do a little research on cancer and turf. The little rubber balls end up in your shoes, and some where I read they have linked it to be cancer causing, it may have only been in California thou.

Looks like he's just using the carpet, rather than the full system.

We were testing the turf and additives way back in like 2000, 2001 and finding Cadmium and Lead in it...The black rubber 'softeners' they add to the athletic fields were, at the time, made out of lovely recycled auto tires...you know, clean, healthy car tires...There's nothing healthier than rolling around in a pile of old tires...Honestly I have no idea how something like that gets from concept to use when they could have used soooo many other inert substances...But hey, "It's recycled" so we're saving the world...Except now all those old fields are piling up with no place to put them...

Even the plastic they used to make the grass had heavy metals in it above the EPA reg limits...
Now they have moved on from testing for heavy metals and find PFAS all in the plastic in the turf...It's basically all just nasty stuff. If it's old enough, maybe the rain has leached out everything it's going to...

    I like my white trucks!
Yeah, they tow nice. It's the same wheelbase as the other 2 Super Dutys, crew cab with the 6' 9" bed. For some reason it does look pretty long in that photo but yeah, very stable tow vehicle.

No, it's the full thing. Little rubber pellets and all. The damn 7.5' x 75' roll was 2000#.

As far as cancer, the sun will probably get them before the rubber. I read about the cancer possibilities, seems like it's mostly a commiefornia warning.
