Hell yeah! As this is a forum of shade tree mechanics and modders, this was a good one to get passed!

I'm actually confused as to why a significant number of people voted it down. Maybe people just didn't understand what it meant.

I loved the commercial that was basically...You gonna get raped if you pass it. I was a particular favorite of mine this shit show season.

Because the opposition commercials were basically you gonna get raped up in here if they pass it, cause somehow being able to access mechanical data is going to give sexual predators access to your whereabouts 24/7/365. Think of the children!

    excuse me, what?

    changing its name?

Read an article this morning saying the auto industry spent millions more than the auto repair shops could afford to in ads .

Surprise. Luckily people saw thru that.

We've got a few pairs of the Bose headphones. The OG noise cancelling corded ones, and a newer set of the bluetooth noise cancelling ones. There are probably better ones, but they were kick ass when i used to travel every other week to West Virginia and half the trip was on a puddle jumper prop plane.

Bose isn’t horrible, but they are a mid level or lower when you get into the big deal audiophile stuff.
Good sound costs an amazing amount of money.

edit: I have Sonos stuff which is handy but not the best. They are about as much or honestly a little more than I’d care to spend but I am happy woth them overall

I think Bose have their place. I got a set of 301s for my smaller living room, they are way better than the custom built ones I had done. I also picked up a set for my outside screen, I am not happy with those ones. Bose has always been about moving the sounds. They were the top dog in the past, now many have passed them.

I think a lot of people didn't understand what the question was really going to change.
Hey now, I resemble that remark!
I agree. For the price I paid for the Bose bar in my living room, I think it was better than a lot of other options in that price range. It pushes sound pretty well, I'm sure there are much better options out there but it does well enough for my needs. Much better than the base TV speakers.

Speaking of bed racks, I'd love to get this for the Ford so I can mount the RTT on it for wheeling weekends. I just wish there was something a little lower-slung.

That is surprising! My truck has heat almost instantly.
Being a New England truck, are you sure you don't have a block heater? PM me your VIN and I can see if they only did the first part of the block heater cord recall. That may explain why it appears to not have one.
    I'll take 2, thanks!!!

I love my Bose speakers. I have the Acoustimass 5 Series III with 5 of the little double cube speakers.

I also have a second sub set up to my system from Boston Acoustics. We can rattle the neighbor's windows if we want haha.

The reason they all sound good though is my Marantz SR6005
I love my Bose headphones. I've had them for over 10 years and they still work great!

Ford really does seem to have a solid marketing team. Or at least way better than GM's. When I was looking at 2018s, they sent me a flyer in the mail with a poster showing all the generations of F-series trucks. I thought it was a nice touch and put it up in my garage. I recently saw this too:

They do have good marketing, but that's not why I continue to buy them. I like their cab configuration better than the other 2, I'm not on board with Ram's reliability and I like the way the Ford drives better than the GM. When GM or Ram steps up their game and makes a product I like better, I'll jump ship. I buy what I like and what best suits my needs. Since I bought my F150 in 2014, that's been Ford for me.

My grandpa actually was mentored by Dr. Bose at MIT when he was there for his electrical engineering degree. He had said his office was cluttered with prototypes and drawings and stuff. I bet that was super cool.
So... what you're telling me is: Having a good ad showing the changes to their product over time and illustrating what makes them so popular is better than having a bunch of ads where you have a mentally deficient "candid focus group" say "wow, I thought this was a _____" or "yeah I might get one of these some day".... I freakin HATE those GM commercials.

The real full name of Rhode Island is State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.

It was the longest state name, always could win trivia questions with that. But, we can't get into politics so I will leave it at just the facts there. You can probably navigate the waters for the rest.

Yeah, mine seems to take a little while unfortunately...

I bought the truck used and I believe it was originally sold somewhere down south. Before I do anything, I'll check the plug location and find out if it's got the plug or the heater just without the cord. Also, surprisingly enough, MA trucks don't require the block heater, at least based on a map that I saw from Ford.

I really like the SuperCab. I was afraid they were going to do away with it, but they haven't. For someone who uses the back seat for stuff way more often than for people, it makes more sense than the small forward swinging doors. The interior may not be as flashy as a Ram's, but it's well thought out--everything has a button or dial--you aren't reliant on just a screen. Plus, the visibility is way better than the new GM trucks.

I was willing to wait for the Tundra until I heard it'd be 2022 until they change the drivetrain. The mileage hit on that truck versus mine amounted to about $100 per month.

The parodies of them are pretty great, though!

Shoot me that VIN and I can tell you in like 3 seconds
I wish Ford offered something like Ram's MegaCab option. I was always drooling over a Cummins 6.7 with a 6 speed and the MegaCab. I love Ford's interior. I want to get the panoramic sunroof on a F-250. That'll most likely be my next new vehicle once the STi is paid for way down the line.

And I agree with you there, the parodies are the best part!
