Haha, I will, truck's not around me at the moment.

I like the Mega cab but in realty, it's not all that much bigger than Ford's Supercrew cab and they derate the capacities on the megacab also. I really like Ford's panoramic sun roof but they seem to have issues with them functioning properly and leaking. On the Ford forum, most of the 'issues' I see are high end features only on the top trim models like the button on the tailgate (who'd a thought they'd be a stupid idea), sun roofs not closing properly, massage seats not functioning properly, etc. All the basic stuff on my XLT seems to be pretty solid.

I love those clamshell doors. I wanted an access cab tacoma but ultimately the crew cab is the high runner, easier to find, and gives me more bargaining potential. And now that I'm going to be using it for camping/sleeping in, I'm glad I went that way. If I get the F150 and do the same, I'm wondering if the extended cab F150s will be enough room to rip out the passenger seat and make it a bed. I'm actually even curious if the Tacoma is enough room for me at 5'10 to do the same. I shared a link to a build on here, the guy is a shade over 6' and was able to lay flat extended in a crew cab that way. I'd have to take a measuring tape to it. unlikely, but would be sweet. But, next truck will be bought in Texas most likely. Depends on living situation, most likely I'll end up in another mid size especially if it'll fit in a garage. Full size is nice but if I don't use the capacity more than a mid size makes available, it's a waste of excess rubber on tires, extra oil, etc etc in long term maintenance. And everythings a bit heavier for DIY. A decked up F150 for camping with sliders and skids would be bitchin' though. Could do a Raptor :D :D :D :D :D

The rear leg room in my F-150 seems very similar to my double cab Tacoma if that helps. It might even have a little more than the Tacoma did.

Yeah that's what it looks like. Then I'd have a bigger bed and plenty of room. It's a maybe. Really depends on what happens, if we even decide to move to Texas. If I did get an F150 it would be an NA, either the V6 which is a nice stout capable and reliable engine that does better MPG than the tacoma and gives me the bed, or the 5.0 because...well.....

I didn't know they de-rated them for that!

I have seen a handful of issues with the fancy options on these trucks as well. I'd want the panoramic roof more to just have the glass there. A massaging seat would be awesome too, but I'm good with heated and cooled.

I'd be shooting for a Lariat with the Tremor package in that deep metallic red.
I'm gonna lobby super hard here for the baby PowerStroke that is available in the F-150. They're a very capable motor and they get great mileage!

The back of the access cab F-150 is surprisingly roomy. I'm still blown away by how HUGE the super crew is when you fold up the rear seats.

Aside from the overall physical size of the full size, the other items really aren't a cost concern, in my opinion. Oil change costs are comparable the 150 took make an extra quart of oil but nothing drastic, tires are about the same if you just go with the F150, they don't get more expensive until you start climbing in load range. The lighter F150's use the same load range tires as the Tacoma. The fuel economy is comparable as well which is what caused me to finally make the jump.

If you can leave MA/ CT/ RI I would. I love the seasons/ snow and the mountains in northern NE, but dislike pretty much everything else. I say go for it. Better yet Montana, it just looks so damn sweet.

Actually that's a good point, if there is enough room to just sleep in the back of the crew cab I could just do that instead. TBD. That's way in the future, I'll focus on my current build now :D

I like a diesel. Not a fan of the modern diesels. It's a maybe, we'll see when it comes time. I'd be more likely to get a hybrid than a diesel, I think. And the hybrid in the F150s is basically the same as the Ram "mild hybrid", I'll be surprised if the fuel efficiency is anywhere near a lot better. But, it is also a truck so they have to balance trok needs vs trok efficiency.

Time will tell. And Texas will tell. It's been set back a few years but we might still move in 2022-2023 timeframe.

The draw of texas is the weather. I hate the cold. I like that in January I can go outside and enjoy it. I enjoy the heat, though, so I can also do that in August in 105 degree heat.

Loaf #2 this week of diabetes bread aka sourdough cinnamon raisin bread. I think getting diabetes via excessive carbohydrates and processed sugar consumption is something we can all agree is in our best interest.

Also, diesel trok go BRAPPPPPP, so it has my vote. Plus, you can always... fix... the emission systems... :spy: :anonymous:

Honestly, the BRAP boys need to stop buying diesels. The smoke tunes and general ass-hattery is going to kill the diesel engine. You can delete them, custom tune them, make an ass load of power and generate hardly a puff of black smoke if it's done right. If the high-powered responsible tuners catch traction, maybe the emissions crap would start to be throttled back to something that's at least serviceable.

With diesels, adding fuel is cheap but adding the required amount of air is where it gets expensive. Hence the coals...

But overfueling without adding the air doesn't add power, it can actually diminish the power gains. The people rolling coal are, in my opinion, morons and shouldn't be allowed to operate a diesel vehicle. I'm on board with throttling back emissions requirements because they've become way too complicated and expensive (I was on board with that before owning one also). I'm all for modding and adding power also. Neither of those would result in sustained black smoke if done correctly.
