for those of you with CB radios, I know many of you typically mount around hood/bed height and get something probably in the 4ft+ height for an antenna, but I plan on mounting mine to the basket above my fiberglass cap.....ya think 2ft is enough or should i spring or the 3ft. I also plan to get one of those folding mounts for a quick lowering of the antenna when needed

For CB IIRC you want to be in increments of 9ft (wavelength). So i think the min you'd want is 3'.

The CB portion of the spectrum begins at 25.01 megahertz, so a full wavelength antenna would be a bit more than 39.34 feet long. That's obviously a little long to attach to your bumper, so people tend to use antennas that are a fraction of the wavelength: 1/2, 5/8, 1/4 and 1/8 are all common wavelengths for antennas. In the case of CB, the 1/4 antenna at just under 10 feet long is the common "whip" that you may see on cars and trucks.

Weird, I haven't run into that problem, but then again I don't listen to WAP and Tia Tamera on repeat, so I can see where your confusion is coming from!

Hope you like it. I love having access to whatever I want with no ads.
Yeah, well it's Spectrum, so obviously something is wrong!

I do love the no ads thing, past couple days have been pretty awesome with that!

I actually know one of those references! I have no idea who Mrs. Tamera is. And judging by juxtaposition, probably won't be googling that on my work computer/network!

I had a NGP Firestik on my 2013 that I could never get to work particularly well. I had no luck with CBs in general. I have a great install for my actual CB, but not a great antenna setup.

I'm gonna have to go with a no from me. Those front fenders remind me of the Spoon S2000 which I never liked. More power is awesome, but I feel like the styling is a step back, rather than a step forward. I wish they'd make it in a targa and give me the Supra hoop. Then we could talk.

They didn't goodwill it? I would think you'd have a case. Was he tuned or stock? What was his oil situation? Frequent changes with good oil?

I'd be more apt to get the disconnect than the folding, unless you plan on using the CB regulary. I had the folding point and I found with it folded the antenna flopped around everywhere. I used to have it velcro-tied to my bed cleat.

My car before the tacoma was a wrx and i drove it like a complete dickhead. As soon as I traded it for the tacoma, the wife was ragging on me for driving like a grandpa. Funny hearing other people had the same type of behavior from one to the other.

I attached my Firestick to a Caliraised bed accessory mount so it would be lower and not interfere with my cap on the back of my truck.

I’d put a spring on it regardless of height and run one on my Firestick and another on the VHF/UHF ham.
