I’m torn on Hawaii. On one hand, hell yeah. On the other, it’s a homeless storage unit for the rest of the country and it’s expensive. I’ve never actually even been, but I have been to the Caribbean and it’s similar, only American, from what I’ve talked to people.

Did a redneck touch up on my plasti dip rims. Right rear. It was peeled in one spot and maaaaaybe had a tad small bit of curb rash from a few days ago. So I pulled a section off and hit it with a rattle can. Still on the truck. o_O but it’s back to black now. And so are my lugs this time in one wheel. Oopsies. I’m debating getting new lugs either black or red anyway.

I’d take the Caribbean any day lol.

Colored lugs are cool and all but the coating doesn’t last

true. Ill probably just use the stock ones. Other than looks they work a okay. No need to fix it if it ain’t broken.

my in laws favorite place is saint Maarten. They fly in and kip up on the French side for a week every February. I’ve been there three times. Vacation then honeymoon and then we went this February for her 60th. That was actually the first exposure to virus stuff. We were asked if we’d been to China, and there was one woman wearing a mask on the plane on the way up from Charlotte. A few weeks later the shit hit the fan.

anyway. I’m convinced on Texas. Might not be a tomorrow move but might end up there before I’m 30 that’s the goal. I’m 27 now 28 in April.

Island life guys- I don't know if you are fully understanding the costs of living on islands, and the work opportunities.

You better go with millions, be cool with living in a shanty, or want to work 80hrs a week.

I went to hawaii once, not a single native worked less than two jobs that I spoke to, and they all talked about how easy things were up on the mainland where you only need to work 40 hours a week.

I've been to a lot of other islands, and all the taxi drivers, hotel workers and weed dealers have the same story, housing is impossible to afford, and work work work!!!!

I think the Bahamas was the last place I went, maybe two years ago? The people told me they can't buy new houses, the average is like 6-800k and they just keep putting more and more generations in the same home and building additions or just cramming in there.

Sure the sun is shining, but the simplicity that we think is there, is a facade and the reality is much different for normal people.

Oh, yeah where you go to visit is tourist destination 101. Same deal with old orchard beach, I grew up there. Everyone comes in, goes to their beachfront hotel and walks down to the beach or the center of the universe. Then they all pack up and go home Sunday afternoon having never left that little bubble.

meanwhile. I lived up the hill in meth village.

I know it’s the same deal. I do want to move down to Texas though. Yeah island life seems cool but I just want the heat.

Texas is a bit different, and I think still a great place. But the tourist places (my county survives on it too) are deceptive to outsiders.

I want to go live in the middle of nowhere Montana on the side of a mountain after a week there in February a few years ago.

I’m sure the realities of that would surprise me a bit too.

Good old OOB, it’s such a nice place when you don’t pay attention what’s really going on.

That sucks about the LTC. Unfortunately its up to the discretion of the licensing officer in your town, and they can pretty much decide all willy nilly whether to issue or not.

Got to love wives. Mine asked me to patch up a few drywall anchor holes in the dining room after moving some pictures Friday. I painted in there about 6 years ago, and maybe a month ago threw out the old paint at the town hazardous waste day. Instead of getting swatches and trying to match, she insisted instead paint the dining room. That turned into well now the hall and kitchen look crappy, and then the stairway upstairs and upstairs hallway look like crap. So guess what is painted, all of that stuff. O and ceilings because "its not that much more work is it?"...:bananadead:

Yep, the wife plans on painting our bedroom, oh and can we replace the floor. Oh and how bout the new wood floor continuing to the hallway. Oh and it would make the kids rooms better if we just did theirs at the same time.

We can do that over Thanksgiving break right?

I still haven’t bought the paint

pretty much. And then the locals are usually ancient farts who are grumpy about tourists, like they’re not the only damn reason your town even exists at this point. So happy to be out of there.

It was awesome when they bulldozed the fairway and put up those condos. Half the units are still empty, I worked at Roccos and every night at 830 the lights would turn on for about half the units. And then the TV would all be turned on to the same channel. And then at 1142 the lights would all turn off. All at the same time in the unoccupied units. Half of them were all synced up like that.

place took a weird turn when the galaxy burned down. That was what drew a young crowd. Now there’s only the pier which...it draws A crowd....I’ll leave it at that.

sounds like you got conned into painting the house. Smart woman.

I did the floor in our bedroom list summer. It obviously needed new paint at the same time...

Living in a shanty or working 80 hours a week... sort of sounds like living near Boston!
Interesting... I'm sort of surprised by some of the people on his list. I don't agree with any of them, but I can see how he wouldn't like some of them based on his genre of music. Really surprised about Led Zepplin, Metallica and Sabbath though.

Exactly. I'm not a big fan of David Bowie or Prince either but they were very gifted.

And just because I don't care for other types of music it doesn't mean I don't respect them. I don't care for Pink Floyd but I've got mad respect for them
