the boys in Washington state took the capital and then marched on the mansion, got thru the gates and sent the staties packing until backup came.

What a wild day yesterday was, I just had a livestreamer who had multiple feeds across the country going all day on the tv. Right out of a movie.

Glad there was only 1 death in all the chaos, woulda been great if the DC police didn't shoot a 14 yr vet in the neck for climbing thru a window though.

People living in cities should be stocking up on essentials, especially those with babies. I don't want to say we are in a civil war, but I do think that its gonna get messy for a few days here and I wouldn't be shocked if supplies of some things drop a little.

Yup, my landlord jacked the rent this year as well. Luckily the house was cheap before and just a little less cheap now. I sure wish I could find something worth buying under a 1/4mil. House shopping is useless right now.

I know that the people that I work with who rent are all paying double my mortgage or more for their apartments right now. One of them rents a 3 bedroom with his family and their rent is almost 3x what my mortgage is. But he can't get out of it because they're spending so much on rent that they can't save up for a down payment, and between the two of them their income is high enough by like $5k that they don't qualify for any of the first time homebuyer programs from the Fed.
Of course, right now they probably wouldn't be able to find anything to buy that'd be more reasonable anyway.

Cant even find some cheap land and build to save money anymore. Materials were up on the house we just built 30-40% from the house we built last year.

shitty time for almost everyone right now. Except if you are selling everything and leaving to a tropical island.

Yea, I'm just looking for a townhouse or house to rent preferably. I'm over the loudness and what not of a complex

1/2 mil will maybe get you an outhouse down here. And not even a nice one with hand carved wood, polished and lacquered toilet seat covers, etc... More like one shoddily put up with non-pressure treated plywood and sheetrock screws that uses a toilet seat found at the transfer station emptying out into a hole that's far too shallow.

My house would go for maybe 175k and it's 1500 sq ft, 24x24 garage, and 2/3 of an acre. I have friends in Hingham and they told me to look at pricing to see why they could never afford a house there. One like mine is 700k+. It's unbelievable. 700k would get you 30 acres, a huge beautiful modern home, killer views, and a huge barn or garage here.

We were lucky to get out house in Hopkinton when we did. And lucky to get it at the price we did. It was on the market for ~1.5 years before the price dropped enough that we could even look at it. Now we would never be able to buy it. And the low price for houses is in low $600k, which is fucking banana's.

Nothing quite like the feeling of a skeeter biting your cheek while hanging ham over the hole.

Alright boys and girls. I know I posted a few days ago about the search for a new vehicle and was picky about 4Runners but we all change vehicles as often as underwear and I think I found a used Audi Allroad that checks the boxes. Short money compared to a newer 4Runner, still AWD and has the features I want. The used Toyota market is bananas right now so I think this makes more sense.

Who has owned Audi or VW vehicles and what should I watch for? It’s for the 2.0T flex fuel engine. AT transmission. Interior and exterior looked good. I’m going back to drive it Saturday morning. Clean carfax with no glaring red flags to me. I know it’s much more expensive to maintain than my current 99 4Runner but I need a reliable AWD car for work.

just to be clear, it was an officer from The United States Capitol Police (a federal agency) that opened fire, it was not an officer of the DC metro police (a municipal agency).

the entire thing was a sad display, but its like they always say "play stupid games win stupid prices"

in the end 3 other peoples died as well from medical emergencies, so four dead in total
