@mach1man001 sorry man....that sucks. What options are you left with? Fix the truck on your own? Is it drivable or legal? New vehicle?

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
It's 12 years and I was 12 years and 2 months. They had some crazy 9/11 date that they had come up with for some reason???

I could of course buy a new truck but I don't want to. Mine runs fine and is inspectable.

Road trip to AZ to find one with a blow motor / bad interior and just swap? Sorry to hear that though. You just got the wrong person reviewing your case.

@mach1man001 So what happens with your truck now? Are you even able to drive it or are they saying it's unsafe, you can't drive it, but we're not going to do anything about it, good luck.

Even for their new ones? I am not sure I was ready to commit to either brand, but theyve had some fun cars. IMO the Hyundai manual wagon N series was a sleeper but they stopped making it last year. It had caught my eye

Everyone I know who has owned a camry has loved them, or at least enjoyed them without issues.

The carolla hatch interests me a bit I just wish it wasnt so pathetic engine wise. The GR which might come out would be better, but I'm worried they will rice it up too far.

I want a 30k or less, super fun car. Can look silly, be dorky etc... but I want something that has some character, is decently basic bitch and will fly under the radar. Theres a lot of options but these new "stick on" looking displays on all these little cars really turn me off.

2 months! Try using covid wth them. I new a guy who had his truck repod and he just mentioned covid briefly and the released it for free I guess. He still owes, but they gave it back.

    "REALLY, during COVID"

"You expected me to do this in the middle of a PANDEMIC"

And not to take advantage of a crisis, but didn't you actually have family pass away from this? I dunno, I don't like playing a victim card and making things up, but 2 months! come on man'!

Yeah, 2 months is bullshit. Like it was completely structurally fine 2 months earlier and then "BAM" frame is instantly fucked!

I'm not in a position to buy one but they are pretty sweet looking. Have you looked at the Camry XSE v6?

the most fun bang for the buck car i've had have been civic si's. i've had two of the 8th gen sedans. after i got rid of the type r i considered getting a new si too. out of the box they are a lot of fun on twisty roads, and you can just abuse them and they'll keep going.

Rob, I’d probably plate over that section of the frame. Cardboard template and transfer to 3/16 steel. Cut out 3 flat pieces, well the bottom on, then each side leaving the top as is. Remove and reinstall the cab mount to the new plated section. That would last plenty long.

It was a basic house inside 1982-1998 (when we moved). From what I hear the new owners ripped out carpet and tile and did all hardwood, plus the addition on the back..my dad figured they dropped 80K on the improvements before sleeping in the house one night. Insane.

Yup! I talked to Dan @dc welding and were going to cut out the rot and weld in a new piece to fill it in and then were going to make a plate to go over the entire area and weld that over it too making it double the thickness. It will be done right and stronger than it was from the factory.
