IDK. I have no intention on putting that much money into a truck this old!

Afraid so. I volunteered back in November. Seemed like a good idea at the time, since it meant I didn't have to work a Saturday during deer season or during the holidays.

My best friend replaced his 2006 WRX wagon (original owner, 200k+) with a 10th gen Si sedan. It's so much fun to drive and I honestly liked it better than the currently WRX with the FA motor. He's got the Hondata flash and a larger rear sway bar. The flash really woke the car up, got rid of the rev hang, changed up traction control, etc. It was really impressive. The only thing that stinks is that he's already seeing his clutch starting to sleep, which isn't uncommon for the car. His WRX had 200k on the original clutch with nearly 140k of it at 20+ psi, so he's not clueless when it comes to driving stick.

That's my go-to fun sedan recommendation for a new car, although there is no 2021 Si right now with the 2022 model on the way.

I am working on refinishing the 4R wheels that @Clark27 was kind enough to gift me. They been stripped, cleaned and sprayed with self-etching in basement paint booth fuming up the house.
I still haven’t decided was color to paint them.
I have oem silver or a rustoleum dark steel. Both are sitting on the bench ready to go and both will be topped with Duplicolor Gloss wheel clear coat

I don’t know how the dupli-color clear coat holds up, i’d recommend the 2 stage clear coat, the one you have to press the button on the bottom to mix it. Also, the kind of stuff you need a real respirator for, not just a paper paint mask. I’ve used regular rattle can on wheels before, if it’s for easy touch ups, the duplicator is great, but if you’re looking for automotive clear coat quality, try the 2 stage. The wheels look great so far!

I've used the duplicolor clear before and it was awful, that was years ago. I ended up sanding it off respraying the color and not doing clear

Wasn't planning on putting the new soft top on until March-ish but it was sitting in the garage and I had a free afternoon so figured why not. Fabric needs some time in the sun to stretch out and settle, but happy with how it looks. Went out for a drive tonight and can't believe how quiet it is and very well insulating.

Did you guys use the duplicolor clear coat or the duplicolor wheel clear coat?
I’ve read some pretty good reviews of the duplicolor wheel clear but not the duplicolor general automotive clear coat

When I buy auto paint, I go to the automotive paint jobber. The one I use stocks PPG. On rare occasion, I’ve gone to another supplier that stocks DuPont. Never used Duplicolor except for a small touch up pen.

Is that the twill fabric? That is supposed to be the thickest fabric for the soft tops. I never had it on my jeep as the sailcloth held up fine for me.

No idea, never used either, it was just a general comment about typical rattle can clear coats. The Spraymax 2K Clear is awesome, it holds up very well. Most general rattle can paints are soft and stuff gets embedded in it and isn’t overly resistant to chemicals. The 2k clear gives a nice, automotive like clear coat in a can which is very durable.

If you use it though, wear a respirator and don’t spray it in your house. it has stuff in it that’s not to be taken lightly, it can mess you up pretty badly.

I believe it was the wheel clear as I was painting wheels for my old 03 Altima back in the day
