We're permanently going to a flex schedule, so I'll work from home 3 days a week and only have to go in the other 2. I really should have a commuter car due to how far away the office is. But especially now with flex, screw that noise. Old, inefficient V8 ftw. Also I'm not going to feel as bad when I get mud tires now....

It's awesome how a lot of companies are realizing that they are as efficient, if not more efficient, with employees working from home. Plus they save on utilities and facility costs as well.

It sucks for my business. I build those offices. At least biotech can't work from home.

i think some kind of hybrid is the future. some stuff i wish i could go see my customers for, but we aren't allowed back in the field yet. but there are a lot of efficiencies not being on the road all the time

My company hasn't rolled out a new policy yet. We're still 100% remote until July 1st as of now. They've said we are definitely going back to the offices, but I'm sure there will be a more lenient policy then previously. Before all this we were allowed to work from home 1-2 days a year.

We're 100% remote for the foreseeable future still. Our office lease is for another 3.5 years anyways, then we'll downsize since no more than 25% or so of people in the office will physically be in at the same time. Fortunately we had an office in Asia and they warned the higher ups early on to expect similar conditions here. We set up the infrastructure to work 100% remote in Jan of 2020 which worked out nicely.

Finally got around to finishing repainting the kitchen. Took about 30 hours at night over the past few weeks to get all the cabinet doors stripped. Honestly it was probably unnecessary to strip them, but wife didn't think they'd turn out good if we didn't.

Rented a sprayer for the weekend and set up a ghetto paint booth in my basement gym. All in all turned out good, just need to them cure a few more days. Definitely much smoother than rolling/ brush. But went through 4 gallons of Benjamin Moore Advance cabinet paint at ~$60/ gallon for 25 cabinet doors, a few drawer faces, and also bought some new bifold doors and sprayed them for where the washer/dryer are on the first floor.

I absolutely hate working from home and was making up excuses to go back into my office before they wanted anyone in the buildings. I'm glad my position would most likely never evolve into one where I have to.

Lots of prep work. That was like 99% of the time. The actual spraying was really quick and easy. It was the stripping, sand, prime, sand again, prime again, sand, prior to painting that takes forever

Honestly probably could have done without the stripping and just sanded them and primed right over the existing paint. Thafs what the can says to do, just take the shine off so there's something for the paint to grip. We just went full retard.

I painted all mine because someone painted them this awful off white color and they were dirty and ugly. I would tear them all out and buy new before I painted cabinets again.

That's how ours were. Off white and like dirty brown in the details. My wife said it's supposed to be an antique style finish. I thought it just looked dirty. Plus after painting the kitchen a few months ago the cabinets and crown molding all looked like crap.

I painted mine brown. I don't care for the white cabinet fad and think it's easier to keep darker colors looking clean.
