Hey if it ain't broke don't fix it. I've said it in here before, once my truck is paid off assuming I can afford it I plan on getting a subaru as a daily driver (or a newer Rav4). This time of year I just love AWD as a convenience. Truck has to stick around for kayak hauling.

 

Anybody have a hookup on wheels and or tires. Starting to shop around for the QX56. Plan to replace them by summer at the latest. The Bridgestone duellers suck that are on it. And the wheels either need to be painted, powder coated, or replaced

 

What is the lug pattern?

 

Same as the taco! 6x5.5. 18s and up fit and I believe even 17s. Factiry wheels are 20s on ours with optional 22s......I prefer tire. Factory size is 33s and I'm thinking I'll go 34s

 

I will be getting rid of my 2013 sport rims very soon. I just need to switch over to my new wheels. They are 17x7 and I believe a +30 offset. They have been covered every 2 years with plastidip for protection and that can come off with a pressure washer if you are interested.

 

No tires though....

 

Thanks, my neighbor has a set if I wanted them but this does make me think maybe I should just grab some 4runner wheels for it hmmmm

 

have any interest in stock TRD OR rims? I’d say wheels but the tires are useless and probably will be worn out to the level of needing replacement sometime this summer. I’m trying to get my 6x setup by then.

 

Too small. Pretty sure 16s won't fit over the brakes

Truck is back..WOW what a difference in the Clutch..That sucker has been a long throw since I bought the truck with 78,000 miles. CRAZY how great it feels. It use to take oomph to shift.
Oh and what a rusty nightmare. The mechanic was apologizing for having to also put in a new transmission mount when the old one crumbled

I'm thinking they earned every penny of that labor.
Plus I got a clutch hydraulic flush and fill and fresh transmission fluid...New clutch...Shit I'm just now wondering if they did indeed replace the entire clutch...Makes sense.
He showed me the old throw out bearing. It wouldn't even spin. Rusted/corroded.

"Clutch kit" I would think includes pressure plate, disc, tob, fork.

 

Normally its the pressure plate, clutch disc, clutch alignment tool, pilot bearing and throw out bearing. Then gotta add in flywheel bolts as the factory ones are torque to yield and pressure plate bolts for good measure

 

Yeah I thought that was kind of lame. At least throw the 2.4 DIT out of the Ascent and Outback into that thing. Make it actually sporty.

Why change something that works incredibly well? No need to reinvent the wheel!

 

Toyota likes to do this, still running 4 piston full floating calipers and drum rear brakes on their trucks (not tundra). Also last time I looked they were still using the same radio plug as back in 1987

 

That's a VERY reasonable price! You've got yourself a good mechanic.

 

They have changed the radio plug, sorry to be the bearer of bad news

 

Yeah. They’re amazing. I’d have them over for BBQ and beers.

 

Figured as much, think my 2011 still uses the same plug though

 

My rear drums are atrocious. Maybe this summer I’ll do them...they’re basically a parking brake.
