I'm good with all that, but minus the running part.

    Kinky!

My wife seems to follow that if it fits it ships mode, within 6 months our washers seem to shake like a dog shitting razor blades during the spin. I thought it was cause we always had the agitator, so this time I got one without, needless to say I have ruled out the agitator.

    The agitator wasn't the agitator?

My wife also does the 'if it fits, it ships' thing also but, she does the majority of the laundry in our house so, if you put my in that same situation, I'm packing that puppy to the brim!

Shrug. I can't criticize too much since she does do most of the laundry. But I'm picker about it than she is; I'll separate darks and lights like she does. But then I'll take it one step further and separate towels & sheets from the rest of the lights and give them their own batch, and the same with jeans/pants. And then my 'dirty work' clothes get their own wash cycle, with nothing else in there. And if there's not enough of any one item for a full batch, I'll wait until there is.

Which used to drive the GF nuts, because she'd want a specific pair of jeans after a weekend where we didn't have enough for a jeans/pants batch. So she took over

Now lights all go in with other lights regardless of weight, and same for the darks.

Funny enough - I'm actually planning to get back out starting today or tomorrow. I hate running too but if I don't then I do f-all nowadays. Doesn't feel right going for a 2 hour ride with a dog that would love 2 hours of exercise just sitting at home, otherwise I'd be doing 30 miles/day still. :( now instead I'm overweight but my dog has fun

    sounds cool

You DO know you can that...without running 100 miles, right?

Will do - I'm not in the office today but back in tomorrow, I'll ask her if she knows anybody.

Can you tell me - number of people, timeframe looking? I guess also budget for rent, I have no idea what rent looks like down there. You could tell me a 2 bed 1 bath is 500 a month or 3500 a month and neither would surprise me o_O

Just don't do what I did - research and make sure you can change the swing side of the washer before you buy it. The dryer can flip flop, great - the washer can't, such a pain. I might see if I can't switch the washer and dryers positions but the dryer vent might mean I'm SOL without making a new one. Which wouldn't be the end of the world to do.

From what I am seeing, 2Br 1 bth is 1200-1500 average, some about 1750 if they are fancy. She needs a winter rental Sept to May and would be back the following year.

I'm finally moving from a very old Win 7 machine to a Win 10. It is a pain to get what you want to be reloaded and learning the quirks of win 10.
Then I have to move what's on the HD that I want over.

We’re in the market for a new dishwasher this month too since the one we have is original with the house (‘87) and loud af. Definitely just going to pay someone to swap it out.
Thoughts on the Bosch 300 series?

Cheers I’ll ask tomorrow and let you know.

I have adopted the cloud attitude. All my stuff that isn’t sensitive (social security number etc) is on google or Microsoft. If my computer shits the bed no harm just get another no issues. And can get everything from my phone too

Father in law knows a guy who jokes that he only keeps one tool in his tool box - his checkbook.

hey credit where it’s due - knowing you aren’t handy is a good first step to know.
If you already have all the hook ups it’s easy as pie. Mine was a bit of a faff because they had one in there and then got rid of it for a cabinet box - so I had to take out a cabinet box but otherwise it was an easy job. Ended up replacing the water line with pex rather than play roulette if the old valve will work or not.

I spend all day working on stuff. I've just hit the point, that when I am not at work, I don't want to work.
Demo'd the ceilings in my laundry and mud rooms before Xmas for the last round of spray foam.
My buddys company had to make some repairs regarding a crooked door frame.
They ended up finishing the demo in the mud room, insulating, etc. In a day.
They're gonna install new entry door and solid core wood door for first floor bath, and new ceiling. I'll finish the rest.
    I've installed ALL new mechanical.
I just don't have the time, or motivation for house work. This is my last one.
Just want it done, or sold... hoping for the later while people are buying anything up...but, I doubt I'll get it finished before the boom ends.

I'd rather work on my bikes, etc. At least that I enjoy.

had a bosch in nc, really liked it. was quiet and did the trick. Have a GE now, been happy with that as well.

Get ready to wait HOURSSSS for fucking dishes to be done. The new efficient ones add like two hours to every cycle.

Only Bosch appliances we have/had are washer/dryer. Dryer tub cracked (stainless steel at that) within about 5-7 years. A good size chunk work hardened and made a hole. The washer controls have a fractured section in the plastic from where the door hits.

As noted already, it’ll run for hours and the dishes will be moderately clean. If you’re replacing just for the quietness, I’d think long and hard before doing it. Of course, I’m cheap too...

If the old dishwasher works but is loud...well the new ones aren't silent either right?

I like our GE stuff, has been reliable, I only had my bosch for a few years and now that you bring it up, I might have had to call someone to repair it in the first year. This was like 6-7 years ago in a different state so I've sorta blacked out that time of my life.

We have a bosch. It's awesome because it's so quiet. The only way you know it's on is a little red light that shines under the front of it when running.

Also, super easy to hook up yourself.

I have never separated lights and darks and the girlfriend doesn't either. I haven't had any problems from doing that. But I guess I don't have much for lights, I mostly wear jeans and grays.

my Wife’s brother is an engineer for GE and warned us against buying their appliances. We got one of their fridges 2 years ago and it took them 4 doors to get the dispenser door working properly telling us it’s 100% gonna fail again.

figured buy once cry once. Spend a little more for something that has the potential to last. Just not sure which series to go with; they all have pretty decent ratings/reviews
lot of the appliances in this house are hitting their expiration date. Stove burners are super finicky and dish washer is basically falling apart. Bathroom fans are in the very near future as well.

We had a 'red towel with a load of lights' incident when we were first dating. Years of used-to-be-white pink towels and throwing away more than a couple pink t-shirts meant that we've always separated by color since then
