Yup, grabbed some paint to hopefully paint the trailer black today.

I am a picky parker so I hate that, but I guess in their defense it's a huge lot and usually pretty empty.

I’ve honestly thought about a transit connect for myself (no kids) as a hunting/fishing/camping mobile that can haul people as well. They look pretty nice inside and still have the boxier non-minivan look. Just wish they’d offer it in AWD like the full size transit vans. That might seal the deal for me

My wife’s vehicle is a 2010 Subaru Forester XT (turbo). Fantastic car, 80K and has a regular transmission. Leather, auto climate, sunroof. Non-nanny system. Garage kept but a standard non-car crazy grocery getter. Come down with the 4R and swap it with the Forster. ;)

Edit: this would be a perfect fit as my wife is 5’11”

My wife had very similar criteria for her car, no mini-vans and she’s relatively short. We ended up with a Ford Flex. It’s AWD and has tons of space inside, i’d wager the same if not more than the 4Runner. There’s a lot of room for activities! Also, boxy looking but low to the ground so it’s easy to get kids in and out.

wife loves her Venza, the new ones are a little smaller than the 15 we have; but they are all hybrid now.

the Honda Hrv was not bad but we are are both 6’-ers so no baby seats if you want any sort of leg room.

My wife enjoyed driving the Outback, until she drove the 4Runner. We went from VWs the last being a Jetta wagon to the Outback. We liked that it was a little higher off the ground than typical cars, fit 2 car seats in the back and had the “trunk” for a St. Bernard.

This. Go "test drive" a stock height T4R and see what that does in terms of fit.

I suppose a used GX might fit the bill. Tahoes are short too, but they have their own issues. If Jeep still did MaxCare it wouldn't be terrible either, but my first comment would be drop the 4Runner down.

I LOVE the flex. She fucking hates it :bananadead: The problem is, she isn't very realistic on what car she should really get, she's fighting the family vehicle, even though thats literally the trigger for the change. The new transit connect 22' is supposed to be wagonish, and maybe fill that void. But if I want one, I'll have to have it for my car.

I won't do VW ever again. Had a passat I loved, but the service was horrible, they fought every little issue with the warranty and then 6 months after warranty went out, all the electronics in the car died and had to be completely replaced. Never ever again.

I tried to look for the rear window placard (on a cell phone) and didn’t see one- it was the kicker for me..

    @Bridge4

If you like the Telluride, and she is anti-Kia, check out the Palisade. Same platform, and driveline, but, a little different.....

I'm kind of in the same boat with the Flex...I kinda like it, she HATES it. No idea why. Its a venomous hate too....

The Forster XT should he a good option as well....

I mean, could always trade tye 4R for a 4wd diesel Sprinter.... been eyeballing one for a bit... step up and in, room to move around and get kids situated while staying dry/secure, NOT a minivan....

ya, wife wants another VW, I don’t. All the ones we owned were manual trans, and when we shopped them before getting the Outback, the VW sales folks tried to convince me the Triptonic was the same as a manual trans. We had head gasket issues on our Gulf, the Fox didn’t like to run until a few hours of sun, and had a new beetle run out of oil, so we traded that a week later. I never had an issue with the electrical, but do know that VWs are best the simpler they are.

A friend has an 18 Forester XT that is getting rust work fixed and they gave him a 21 Legacy. Apparently the Legacy won't let you turn up the stereo above level 2 until you buckle your seat belt.

Now that spring is finally here...

There is so much I need to get done, that I really have no desire to do...
Have a pine tree down across the yard that is high on the list...
As well as general spring clean up. And brush that needs to be cut down(but, my trailer is loaded with drywall, so can't get the brush-hog).

I'm at least gonna get the oil change done on the Nissan this morning... drove it and washed it yesterday... so much better shifting my own gears...
