Yeah, for the last year or so. I had a GIANT brush/slabwood pile that I wanted to burn all of last summer but could never get a permit for because the fire danger was so high. So I burned it this spring instead, while there was still some snow on the ground, and it went up like a pile of matchsticks. Probably 20-25 foot flames for about 30 minutes, and then the bigger stuff idled along for the next 8 hours.

Just reseeded the long, I want a nice, even, slow steady rain for 4-5 hours. I really don't want a deluge. If that could happen every day say from 4-7 PM for about 2 weeks, that would be fantastic.

Well, Toyota is gonna be buying me a new frame. Just looked underneath..the piece for the exhaust hanger near the cat was hanging, so I saw a small hole on the outside of the frame rail on the passenger side. A small push and my finger went right through..1x2 inch hole on the side, plus another smaller one underneath about 12 inches back. That's just what I can see on that one section without getting underneath it.

Haven't called yet but prob will in a few minutes. Not due for the second inspection until September but there's no way this would pass.

You gonna treat the frame after to keep it forever? Or sell it to some lucky bastard. I feel like giving it to a dealer it could end up in someone’s hands who doesn’t appreciate what a new frame and associated parts can do to extend the vehicle life!!

Good luck with that. 3 inches of rain, all at once.

Def gonna keep it a few years more. Only way is if they made me a crazy offer which I don't see happening, like the first gen buybacks. Don't want another payment, unless I git into a 18 for about $5000 which is similar to what Cupcake got in 2008

Longer you keep it in good shape and dont add a million miles the more it will be worth. I'm convinced 1st and 2nd gen tacos will be worth their weight in gold someday :anonymous:o_O

You're probably right, just depends on how much of that weight rusts away... :poking:

I'm thinking about converting my truck into a woodie. I found some vinyl wrap that looks damn close to the old 3M DI-NOC, I think I'd probably pull the flares off and wrap them separately and then put 'em back on. There are some good body lines to pick up for the sides, basically following the "high point" of the fender from the top notch of the headlight opening down to the fender/door split, go straight across (above the "dip" in the doorsides), and then pick up the rear quarter curve up to the top edge of the rear quarter, wrapping straight across the top of the tailgate under the tailgate cap.

I also found a classic repro company out of the rust belt doing some really good looking US made retro body trim - tan vinyl insert in a chrome track w/ tapered ends. That would go on the top edge, with some stainless "chrome" strip for the rest of the border. Add a couple "ESTATE WAGON" badges pulled off an old Buick wagon and a Toyota logo hood ornament and I think it would be hysterical.

I need to see this happen.

@Pugga the rust is all part of a long term plan at losing weight to gain speed

You need to keep a vehicle for more than a few months to experience rust.

    We got rust...err rot

2nd picture is 1x2 inches wide. Not sure about the one on the bottom where the hanger was but it's at least a 10mm socket.

Shit I thought they’d be pretty light rust and just Ford haters. That’s pretty bad actually. Still surface rust but some of those are pretty rough. Looks like they might have used wrong bolts or gotten a bad batch or something too for them to be that corroded straight away.
