New England B.S. Thread

When I was stationed in England I had a buddy that would buy and fix old Defenders and ship them stateside. Still mad the ex-wife wouldnt let me get one.

 

He does it a little different than Top Gear, he straight up abuses the piss out of it and hasn't had a mechanic do anything do it along the way.

 

Top gear chucked there's in the english channel .... they had mechanics but only with a basic tool set, no replacement parts (other than the windshield so they could legally drive it).

 

Longshot, but anyone want to help me pull the bed off my truck some time in the next few days so I can sandblast as much of it as possible? I can get it back on by myself. I'm in the NEK in VT, south of Glover.

 

My son told me about this yesterday, freaking crazy abuse

Damn man if Sunday wasn't my sons birthday I'd be down for a road trip. Don't really see a lot of built Tacomas in my area (Middlebury), at least not well built ones haha. Good luck bud

 

Hey guys with summer coming and restrictions opening up. Is there any plan to get together around here? I've never been able to do an offroading meet/camp and think my son and I would really enjoy it. I'm not 100% sure on my free time as I'm renelisting in the guard up here and have to go back to BCT and AIT but figured I'd put the bug in everyone's ear.

 

Did you complete Basic and AIT before? Never heard of someone having to do it again.

 

I was in the Air Force before so back to basic it is for me haha

 

ANG or NG? At least for O Camp AF uses TFOT its ANG AD and reserves all together at OCS, not sure about others.

 

I was a jet engine guy on active duty for six years before. Now I'm doing NG so that they'll let me blow stuff up as a combat engineer. I originally went Air Force to do EOD but got hurt during the pipeline and the reclassed me. I've also been out for over two years so I think that plays into the going back to MEPS and basic again

Does anyone know of a book/map or App for trials in New England? I have Backcountry Navigator. I would love a book or something not electronic.

 

How's everyone's holiday weekend going? I'm working and in Buffalo at the moment, leaving soon to go home. I have to go out Monday night again.



The good thing is that I get paid 8hrs for the holiday, I get 4hrs for going in on the actual holiday (even though I'll only be in there for 1hour on Monday) plus I get my regular pay for the trip.
