I did find this blurb in their outdoor recreation master plan: Freedley Quarry Property This property is in an ownership “grey area”. It is listed as Town of Dorset property on parcel databases because of a technicality. There is not a clear future for this parcel. However, the road leading to the quarry is a right of way and the parking area off Dorset Hill Road is accessible to recreators. There is a small kiosk (erected 2020) that displays detailed hiking maps of the area that came from the Dorset Outdoor Recreation Department. The Freedley Quarry has great historic value. It is heavily used by ATVs, 4WD vehicles, and hikers. It abuts National Map 7 Dorset Outdoor Recreation Department 27 | P a g e Forest Service property and has scenic views of Dorset and surrounding mountains. The quarry draws visitors but is heavily affected by litter and crude spray paint graffiti.

So technically it's not owned by the town, but they are trying to acquire it. They do at least acknowledge that's it's a legal right of way for vehicular travel.

You sure they just didn’t dig it up to test 4 wheel drive before getting on the trail. I mean that hole could be fun crossing.

They are a hi end speaker manufacturer but have some reasonable priced models as well just like Focal.

Check them out here. I hear the Maximus are really the best value in their lineup. Go to Performance then Maximus.

They don't show them available at Crutchfield right now but they are still out there. They are going through a name change through Crutchfield that's all. Oh and they are different than the Maximo.

I haven't heard them but they are described as being very accurate and not as bright as the Focals.

    Well...
    Since the crickets are chirping...
Took the family to North Village Smokehouse for lunch... Even the smallest barely touched her Mac n Cheese in lieu of links and burnt ends...

Then get back to work reassembling one of the bikes, rings gapped, and slugs installed...
Just need to clean and prep heads/jugs, and install.20210710_203726.jpg
Depending on the day tomorrow, hoping to start heat-cycles, and MAYBE, even go out and seat the rings

@Chasespeed i took your advice and passed on the Vitus and am now looking for something with Boost hubs and through bolts. I’m looking at the Specialized Fuse. Looking at the price of the Timberjack, if I suck it up and spend that much on a new bike, I’m giving the Polygon T7 or D7 a hard look. T7 is more bike than I need but I likely won’t outgrow it. Really deciding if I even need the rear suspension bits, hard tail might make more sense for me. I appreciate all the advice from you all, been learning a lot about modern mountain bikes...

Murphy’s law. Hit the weakest point. Oil trap door took a hit. Fortunately I just did an oil change

I’m sure it’ll come off. And if the hit that this tool is the one I think it was from this weekend then this was remarkably little damage. :spy:

Truthfully, i’ve never been into BMX, never owned that style of bike or followed that style of riding. I could be missing the boat completely, I just like trails, that’s most of what i’ve ridden in my life. BMX was never big where I grew up.

    20210711_193958.jpg

Tried to upload a video of one of the heat cycles....

Either way, it runs, sounds good.

Has a few heat cycles before it hits the pavement....

@Pugga just didn't seem worth it to spend money on an outdated protocol.
Like in my case above... If doing a tear-down, and cost difference is negligible... Do the full upgrade.
    Cry once....
