Well we started off the day in Rochester NY (we had to go up there this weekend for a family wedding) then went to Niagara Falls and brought the kids on the Maid of the Mist and we just got home.

I'd wonder on the attitude of the "scene" effects this more than the car itself.

Lots of the stanced life videos I've seen revolve around running from cops after street races or hosting big meetups. I don't care, but police don't like that shit.

Truck life guys, usually have the police stickers and a "yes sir, no sir" attitude towards police. You also find a fair amount of police on truck enthusiast websites vs race car ones.

Not saying either is right, just thinking outloud here.

Both motorcyles and pedal bikes, I abhor master links. Get a really good chain tool for each format and only carry a spare master link for an emergency. And learn how to get really good at pressing chains. Master links are just a bad, bad, bad idea. Maybe things have changed in the pedal bike world, but I doubt it.

Also, little tip of the weekend... many garage door openers use a 530 size chain, so if you spit a motorcycle chain say, in Ulster County NY on a Sunday morning, Home Depot will have a master link in one of those little parts boxes with all the washers and nuts and bolts.

That's good to know about the 530 chains! The new mountain bike master links are actually pretty neat, they're not the old style link with the plate and clip. They're a slick design, it's an opposable link if that makes sense. You put them together then 'spread 'em' to make them clip into each other. They need a funky set of pliers to compress them and get them apart and then to spread them to make them seat into one another.

With a little practice, you can work on those without the tool. Now that you have a tool for them though you won't need to.

Yeah, I've seen these, I don't like the look of them either. I just don't want any failure possible when it comes to the chain. I've seen too many broken chains at master links that have not only destroyed the derailleur but also the bike frame. Even frames with a replaceable derailleur hanger. Sometimes it just goes seriously wrong.

I was fiddling around with mine using a pair of needle nose pliers. In hind sight, if I kept at it, I'm sure I could have eventually gotten it loose using a couple of screw drivers. But, after almost putting the pliers through my finger, I decided to order the proper tool. For $8, now I have the right tool for the job. I also now have a spare chain and 2 spare links (I didn't realize you're not supposed to reuse those, I bet it increases rate of failure like @jethro was getting at).

On a sort of related note, I was watching a video on how to set up the rear derailleur (trying to dial in the shifting) and I realized there's a clutch on the silly thing. The bike came with the clutch off, switched it on and it was a very quiet ride on Sunday. Apparently, the clutch does actually work.

Nope, not your issue at all. Based on the way the sliders were designed in the past, all the hardware was there, nothing missing.
So, Caliraised updated their design to have more mounting spots from the sliders to the frame, which requires more hardware. That's why, when you looked at their parts list/video, it seemed like stuff was missing. The instructions/video are based on the new design, with more hardware and stuff, whereas the old design had fewer things. So, I ended up using the new hardware to just bolt in legit everything I could to make it as strong as possible with what I had.

So I'm currently up in the air on whether to do a bunch of rust repair on my tundra or to see what i can get on trade in for it towards a newer used one, or seeing more specs on the new tundra, like towing cap. I found out the bed has 4 rot holes in it over the weekend, i know the underside of the cab isnt the greatest amd the rear axle is pretty crispy. I've been getting it fluid filmed since I bought it, but the previous owners lack of care I think got to it pretty good before the fluid film and wool wax. My biggest issue is I only have $5600 left to pay on it which would give me $8-$10k for trade in. It also looks like the previous owner had gotten into an accident on the passenger front corner since that paint is cleared and it has a new headlight on that side. Rest of the truck is the single stage super white. Truck also has a squeal in the serpentine belt somewhere that I havent been able to track down (i think its the a/c compressor clutch but not 100% sure), but ive spent a decent amount of time replacing worn parts in that system and getting the ebrake working properly again
