The light show that is my truck saved me last night. For the locals I was visiting my buddy in Freetown and was driving through the lakes on 105 in Rochester which is a beautiful drive but DARK at night. I had the high beams on, the lower bar and roof lights on because there's rarely a soul out. I caught a deer well off the side of the road so I slowed and he just jumped in front of my truck. I was already on the brakes but had I not had the lighting power of the sun pointing down the road I'd never have caught it.

As an aside I know most everyone here is a Ford truck guy, but did anyone see the new Integra? I've been a JDM fanboy since like...2001 and an Integra GS-R was on the short list in the mid-2000s when I thought about replacing the Accord (long story) and a 1998 Championship White ITR is on the lottery list, but I am really indifferent to the re-release. I mean, on one hand it's exactly what the Integra always was, a nicer looking Civic with a better interior and more power, but maybe it's just the color, black wheels, stupid graphic and the lack of a coupe, but it just does very little. I don't know what I was expecting, the second comping of the DC2? It's not a bad car, but I was hoping it would be enough to make me consider purchasing it, but it just doesn't. Maybe they'll do something wilder for the ITR like they did with the CTR, but otherwise it's a strong "eh".

Its basically everything else Acura is putting out with the Integra name to try and sell it. Again, the Integra was always just a nicer civic but the hatch was always the one to get, and 200 horses on a car that's almost sure to be on the heavier side isn't really much at all. Meh. Idk if its me embracing getting older but there's not a lot produced today that makes me want to get one, it all feels bland a stale (looking at you Subaru...)

I have to believe the Integra will get a bit more than the Civic since it always had a little more than the Civic. If my memory is right in the EK days the D16y8 in the EX made 125 and the B16a(2?) Si 160 where the B18b in the LS / GS / RS made 140 and the GS-R made 170.

I think I wanted something smaller, but they made an ILX replacement and put an Integra badge on it. I'm with you on a newer car, I don't know what I'd buy. The WRX / STi hasn't really done anything for me since 2015, the new Z is nifty but the lack of removable roof is a drag. I like the SEMA Supra Sport Roof a lot and would overlook a manual, but the base Supra is a strong eh.

If money was no object and I needed a car, I'd probably grab an S3 / RS3 and call it a day.

German cars are the only ones that do anything for me, id love an rs3 or a tt rs and if money truly were no object it'd be an rs6 avant. But the z's were always too heavy for my liking and Subaru hasn't had their shit together for a while now. Which sucks because I love the sti, and used on those is 100% out of the question lol

Ehhh, I'm 50/50 on a used one. Granted, when I bought mine it had only 16,000 miles on it, so that's a much different equation. My issue with Subaru is that all the competition boosted their power way up and the EJ257 has remained the same with the same post-2007 EPA complaint tune that blew motors if you didn't know how to drive the car correctly.

I'm hoping the used car market crashes a bit next summer as I'm strongly considering an 11-14 WRX hatch as a 3rd vehicle with a handful of cash set aside for a new motor. I'm going to be a dummy and finance it, but I at least have an idea of what to look for, unless I find a bugeye / blob eye that came up from the south / west and is clean. I can't do another Hawkeye unless it's another STi and then I"ll end up replicating my old one, which is fun and all, but I don't have that type of spare cash anymore.
