The south short is fascinating to look at - a million dollars gets you something that's really "meh" there. A million in my town gets you this: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/373-Horrigan-Rd-Clarksburg-MA-01247/123639256_zpid/

My house is worth somewhere between 200 and 250 here - comparable stuff there is often 800+.

That's wrong - he should be stuffing himself with iceberg lettuce early to prepare for it.

I wouldn't count Seekonk as the south shore, but I guess it could be. But yeah it's insane over there. And 2 seconds away in RI it's normal. I do hop over to Seekonk to get gas though because it's usually like 30 cents cheaper 2 seconds away.

Well, yeah, out here it might be a trader joe's but wally world is always close. I can get to 3 within 15 minutes I think. I know of 2, I think there's a third. Maybe a 4th actually, especially if we loop it up to 20 minutes I think that makes like 6.

I DO like that about around here though - the tight packing of things. It's densely populated but the culture of not driving far is awesome. Meaning - my commute is 15 minutes. And it's not normal in the culture to spend 90 minutes each way to get to work, where as closer to Boston it is.

I'm the same, except for a year or less in NY when I was 5-6. Though I lived in Hingham from ages 8-24, which was the longest until this house (17.5 years so far).

Yeah the school day off thing was a selling point..though for me it more meant a day to work on my bikes.

$40 of your registration fee is a tax deduction with those.

I have the United We Stand flag plates and money from those goes to first responder and 9/11 related funds. I actually got them because I hated how memorable my normal plate's number was and got sick of everyone commenting on it.

I’ve had these since they first came out before mass offered a million different plates. Still hanging in my garage. Few stints in NH with Fitzwil vanity but when I moved back always go back to the flag plates. Didn’t know they were deductible. Just wish they offered low numbers.

I recommend checking out the Newport Car Museum, it is up the road in Portsmouth. There is also Audrain car Museum, but the building is much smaller, and they don't put too many cars out on display (Audrain is right in Newport).

That's the second Red Parrot recommendation today so it must be good. What does your cousin do at the Newport Car Museum?
