We are in the process of taking down our old high school and because so much stuff in the building contained asbestos, they wasted no time starting the abatement. I was still working on clearing equipment out of sections when they were in other wings sealed off with plastic, red tape, and danger signs. Those guys had quite the PPE for that job.

I do not envy whoever had to crawl through the 400 foot long pipe tunnel to remove asbestos in that gear.

Those guys do it all day, every day. It’s neat watching them work but I agree, I don’t envy them.

They had to do exterior abatement too because they found out the brick contained asbestos and the window caulk contained PCBs.

They're just starting actual demolition - removal of the hazardous stuff was a two month process.

On vacation awhile back and met a commercial diver. His latest job was inspecting the cooling water intake pipe on a nuclear power plant.
3000 feet long, 36 inches in diameter. Too small to turn around in so swim in, back your way back out. No thanks.

My buddy out of college got a job at the Norfolk naval base inspecting the belly tanks of subs. 24" diameter steel pipe that eventually opens into a ballasg tank. They were at least dry though but no way in hell i could do that. I had a job in VA where they were going to send me down a 36" diameter caisson, 100` deep on average. I told my boss, i`ll do the training and go in the first one, no promises on the next one... we ended up using a camera system for the inspections instead.

We use XRF guns at work to test materials - they're so concentrated it's not a big deal. We wear dosimeters when we use it but otherwise there's no PPE needed. Modern tools are doing a lot to contain any spurious emissions, since it's inefficient for the tools as well as dangerous for the workers.

According to O’Handley’s recent Facebook post, they are currently offering Wool Wax undercoating. They are located in Taunton, MA. 8D0D04FF-22F8-45B8-89DE-78F2D452E58C.jpg
Personally, I prefer to have this done by a Tacoma World member. However, it might be difficult to find one who is doing the undercoating this late in the year.

I can't imagine it works there, if it does I've got more to spray next time lol

Two different vehicles. One with a rusty exhaust. Neither exhaust with Wool Wax.

I have no connection to this garage, although I did have my Tacoma undercoated there, prior to learning of a Tacoma World member doing this work.

O’Handley’s did an excellent job on my truck.

I posted the info here, because I have read numerous members’ post asking if there is any place they can get their vehicle undercoated this late in the season.

Thanks for the tip! I think I'm already screwed for this year so I'll keep it clean - at least there's already some in there to benefit me.

The way I see it, if you avoid the exhaust you might miss something you needed to hit. If you do the exhaust, you will waste it on the exhaust itself but will hit everywhere else. At least if you're a first timer shade tree doing it yourself. You're uhhhhh basically a pro. Especially since you only do one main model, you know what to do and how to do it.
