Even at 21-23 on my truck I was still not minding the increased MPG. My wife ended up driving the Malibu because of the heated seats most of the time actually

I'm usually pretty good about that. I have alerts set for what I need to get and this pinged as what I wanted. I'm so grumpy about it. My collection is effectively finished. Since we first talked about all of this I've added like...18? cars. The last few have been sealed which is less cool than full open, but the quality of model has jumped a bunch. I'm actually selling some of my unloved ones since I'm in way over my head. I could just buy another case, expand to my tool room for the rest of the "unloved" but that doesn't really help me out long-term.

Looking at the photo the details seem cruder than I remember them and as I scrutinized more it appears the doors don't have windows and the display case is the 1:43 size. The detail even on the 1:43 cars is impressive, but I just don't believe it's 1:18 actually looking at it with a fine tooth comb. With older, used models you kinda get what you get so I was looking to make sure no pieces were missing, not that it wasn't what the seller said it was.

Anyone know surveying more than me and if these are standardized markers for anything? Came across them in the woods I usually take the dog to down the road.

The paint looks like marks for excavation - either a foundation or roadway improvements. When we mark property lines, we would always use either wooden stakes or rebars. Paint would only last a couple of days.

Yeah, I've been averaging 22 in my F-150, so 10+ MPG more isn't bad.

I don't think they've touched my truck yet which is a little annoying. The novelty of driving something different is wearing off. They've been miles better than the slightly closer dealer up to this point, so I'm being patient and giving them a bit of a pass for now figuring things happen and ma. If I hit the week mark without them touching it, I'll start asking questions.

I think from their perspective they gave me a loaner so there's no hurry, which is true. But I also have a truck for a reason and I'm starting to find situations where I wanted it for something and don't have it.

    :(

It's behind an industrial park against a river. There's about a 1/4 mile "buffer" between river and some industrial buildings that has a ton of trails I can take the dog off leash.

I'm just wondering if there marking property lines for some reason or planning on blowing it out. Balls.

One of my former partners is a very talented audience. He told me a story from back in his high school days. His friend had a car that was registered, but had not inspection sticker and even back then couldn't get one. A group of friends wanted to go out cruising as kids do, but the kid didn't want to risk getting pulled over.

That year, the stickers were a pale yellow color, like Kraft cheese slices. My friend grabbed a slice out of the refrigerator, removed the plastic wrapper, then took a black magic marker and drew a MA Inspection Sticker on it. He then slapped that on the inside of the windshield and off they went. Apparently that did fool the town cops because the ones they passed just waved at them as they drove by.

Well. That explains that I guess. Glad it’s not plopping in a parking lot or something, but will be interesting to see what happens to those trails. Town meeting tomorrow night I’ll attend to see what the timing of it is, but if it’s all marked up chances are it’s coming soon. Balls.

In RI, we used to just pretend we didn't know the sticker was expired. Might get away with it for a year, maybe more. My friend got away with it for 10 years. Now, it's all tied into the system. I'm not so lucky. I got yelled at not because the sticker wasn't expired, but because the dealership put the wrong year of the car on it.

It only recognizes if it has been inspected. If I never got my truck inspected after two years, it wouldn't recognize it as expired. If you buy new then it never shows up and you can keep registering it.

But - insurance can give you the shaft if you get in a collision and your vehicle isn't inspected.

Good to know. I usually don't have problems passing inspection anyway. The inspection station has let me slide with a few things though.

Might be the same problem I had a few years ago on a car I had bought on eBay. The car was the scale but wasn’t the same car that was pictured. The car pictured was a lager scale and better detailed. When I questioned it he pointed out that he wrote at the bottom of one of the pictures will be the same car but may not be the one pictured.

That is not true; on your registration, there is a line saying your vehicle needs to get an emissions inspection by a certain date (the date varies if you buy a vehicle new or used, if it is coming out of state, etc.), and if you don't get the inspection done by that date, your registration will be suspended. It sucks to do it, but as long your vehicle is maintained, it will have no issues passing!

Years ago, I bought a used car out of CT. Being that the car was over 10 years old, I only had a bill of sale and the old CT registration. So I registered it before the bill of sale window was up. I didn't plan on driving the car until months later, so I didn't bother getting it inspected. I was surprised to see a letter in the mail threatening to suspend my registration if I didn't get it inspected within 2 weeks.
