Are you going with an LED option or something like the 2015 Sport / SR dark housed units? If you’re going something that doesn’t have bulbs to replace then having your stock lamps means you can quickly get headlights back (less of an issue for you) if one dies. If you can replace a bulb it’s less of an issue.

I kept my OEM halogen lamps when I went to OEM LED in case one burned out. If I went with the OEM Pros I am 50/50 whether I would have kept them.

The only real downside is storage space. If you’ve got multiple cars to drive and could have the truck down, it’s less of an issue for you.

 

i was looking at the morimoto hybrids. and literally the only reason why is because i saw some videos of my gen tacoma with black headlights and they looked like new cars, and now mine forever looks super old haha

 

Do the Tacoma Hybrids use an add a fuse for their main power? The Stupid Duty Morimotos do and I think it’s a disappointing way to power the lights.

According to the install guide here that seems to be the case. Morimoto also warns of hyperflashing.

I don't know if I like them more than the smoked Pro / SR headlamps or a full retrofit, but they're not bad. I just don't love the area under the DRL racetrack is so large.

 

Holy crap @DoubleRGirl i was not convinced until I saw the picture at the end of the install guide on this one. Those look sweet. Yeah do that.
