If you're referring to me, that is a hydraulic assist for my 1ton. It had dual stabilizers when I got it.

I'm trying to remember if I ever even seen a stabilizer on an IFS, I'm thinking maybe some old chevys etc that still had recirculating ball steering boxes and idler arms, but...

But, never seen one with rack and pinion.. which doesn't mean much either....

I was just curious after seeing the pic.....the weight for a '72 cj is under 3000,lbs btw......we are well over 4,000......so there is that......but the jeeps had the solid axle so there is that.....I know it was a mod I did to the jeep . If I remember correctly it was used mainly to keep rocks and such from taking the wheel out of your hands.....Yes that actually happened with no power steering vehicles.

I agree, solid axle up front is a completely different animal. Even with modern power steering, the new solid axle trucks still have stabilizers

    Not to say it wouldn't......

But, As mentioned, IFS is a totally different animal, than beam axle, even more so with Rack and Pinion. Feedback is much more controlled.
Beam axle, there really is no other way, other than full hydraulic(nit legal for road-going vehicles), additional hydro assist(like I just did), or stabilizers.

So, yeah, wouldn't worry about it. Better places to put money.

On a other note.. now that THIS is buttoned up for the winter(need to find better wheels and tires, I hate these)20221127_121753.jpg 20221127_121803.jpg 20221127_121835.jpg , I have a couple things to sort on the Tacoma before it's too cold...

Cheap Gladiator MTs. They shake, and wet traction? Pfffttt... no such thing.

Nut sure what I am going to install, want 18s, and not sure if I am going to stay 35s, or go up to 37s.

Either way.... it is mobile for now, so...I'll take it.

Been way too many expenses year.

Edited... not sure why it corrected expenses to experts...

Hahaha, yep. They don't look good(to me), low sidewalls on a 1ton... blah blah

I'm looking at something like this in 18x9.. holding off based on rubber choice right now.

    PRODUCT_202004170511_wheel_63252_1000_front.png_dt-product-default-format_dt-product-Zoom.png

It was worth having the body and frame. Can't touch a new 1 ton diesel. It's a relatively low mileage truck. Has less miles than my work van.

I need to get the Tacoma washed before too long....

 It's usually not bad past 84, but I am guessing you went down 84. 84 <> Boston on the pike is a disaster :)

Balls - any warranty hopes or are they saying it's too late? I'd say I'm "worried" owning a white japanese car, but with the shenanigans I put it through, I don't think it will have the chance to flake.

Believe it or not, it can be just as bad, if not worse(sometimes) west of 84. Only 2 lanes, and when something goes sideways, it'll lock it up.

They've been doing a bit of work between sturbridge and palmer, further adding to it.
Couple that with tractors running side by side, and then slowing to a crawl on the climbs....

Anyway, traffic in the Northeast is just ridiculous. No reason for it other than selfish idiots.

Oh, absolutely. I go out to Albany time to time, once it gets down to 2 lanes it can be shenanigans. I usually hit cruise at 67-70 though, so I don't run into a lot of it. But every so often there's some idiot going 50 for fun (usually an old man in a hat).

I had tried before when it was still within time frame and they denied me. Now of course it's gotten worse.
