Those Sprinters are sweet. Guy in the 40-50 thread bought one, he and his wife are seeing the country. He talks about it more but I want to say they just stopped making 4wd models, gonna be AWD I think

I had a 2008 Outback 3.0R and a 2004 Outback H6 (also a 3.0). They moved to the 3.6 in 2010. I loved my 2004 - it was built like a tank. The 2008 had a super nice interior by 2008 standards, but it definitely didn't have the same build quality as the 2004. You could get an Outback XT for 05-09, but they aren't a good purchase unless you really know what you're getting into - turbo will fail and take the engine with it if the maintenance wasn't absolutely meticulous.

A friend has a (2018?) Forester XT and I don't understand why he went with it instead of an Outback. It's not nearly as nice and the price difference isn't enough to make up for it. The seats are absolutely abysmal - almost no cushioning or support. Lots more road noise than the Outback too.

My 04 got real unhappy if it wasn't at least 91, I think the service manual caked for 95 but we don't get that up this way so

Snow has pretty much all melted and it warmed up enough for me to go out and look at the leak. Turns out to be from the passthrough for an old phone line into the house. Since we get our phone via our ISP, that line hasn't been used in years. I cut it, pulled out the passthrough and used some caulking to seal the hole. I also pulled an unused cable feed that went outside the house to provide cable to the upstairs bedrooms. Don't need that either as other than the two "main" TVs the rest are fed via WiFi to Ruko boxes.

We're probably the last generation that will have actual landlines in their houses. Neither of my kids do and I only keep ours since it's $10.00 a month added on to the Cable/Internet bill.

If the next owners want cable installed in all of the rooms, they can have the cable company run new coax.

    Leak problem solved.

I got this and a few other's today. Have to see about cleaning it... or not. With my luck it'll go pink.

Been pretty OOTL lately, do we have a meetup planned for spring?

Debating if I should do my UCAs after having put the eibach 2.0 coilovers.. would love to feel more planted as its pretty touchy at times

:spy: I'm getting a radio hopefully this weekend/very soon. Fortunately that's pretty quick to install solo though, nothing I haven't done before and can't do in 20 minutes in my driveway/won't be getting grimy dirty doing it.

My list for "needs" is short with having other people and with more experience around - get my skid plate off and back to being able to be taken off, and check out the CV boots/steering racks. Brake fluid would be easier with more hands, but can be done solo. Everything else is just grimy, so it makes sense to do it all at once but I CAN do it solo in my driveway if it comes down to it.

    I know I know, I'm down for whatever:D

Problem is space for more than a few at cold weather locations. I'm down for wrenching in the cold. Not big on laying in the snow tho.

My shop fits 4 inside max, 3 is better.

Wifes crosstrek is a cvt, and from what i gather on the crosstrek forums is manuals for that vehicle are being phased out. Have no problem with the CVT as a daily driver. Its our roadtrip car, and its been great for that. First experience with a CVT and so far so good. Sleeping in it, i couldnt do it, would want a forester or something larger.

:D it's 50 degrees down here we aint got any snow!

I'm the opposite. If I'm going to be covered in oil and ATF and whatever, I don't care about the snow and mud, but f the cold.

nah none of my stuff is "truck will fall apart without it" in the meantime. Diffs, engine oil, spark plugs, shit's running in the meantime and a couple extra miles isn't going to grenade the thing, I've seen people ignore these things for 150k+
