Not too bad for $20.50 to my door. I’m sure it will last a week, but for something that isn’t daily driven and typically doesn’t see water it amuses the hell out of me. My inner 18 year old who just left the showing of FnF 1 is giddy.

They came back with $4k. I was hoping to not be higher than $3k, but it doesn't seem exorbitant. Does it seem reasonable to you?

I was seeing prices of 3k ish for the tank so cost of tank, removal, piping for 4k doesn’t seem too bad. No idea what your plan was to pay but maybe ask for a cash price is possible?

That's what I was thinking - $4k feels like the limit for a job like that before people start thinking it's unreasonable. I assumed that was a cash price, but they did say they need half down to start the job, then the other half when it's done. I could always ask if they'll knock anything off if I pay it all at once.

I should get more numbers, but living 45 minutes from work it's kind of a pain to take time to meet multiple people so they can see it and quote it. If I thought it was a $3k job all day and another place would be $1k cheaper, then sure, it's worth it, but I'm not optimistic that anyone else will be hugely different.

My own alarm bells going off - after the past couples years have gone completely bananas, I'm not paying 100% up front for anything anymore. Sliders/armor/etc for truck I'm finding it used so I can go cash in hand and have it, not "we'll start making it when you pay us". Or new. Or in stock and confirmed it's shipping that day, not build to order. Seen way too much of people being burned from contractors and build-to-order stuff on trucks since the 'rona bug.

Half up front, half when it's done, cash if you want it, but I wouldn't pay 100% up front - especially if it's one you found at random instead of knowing a guy.

Yeah, you have a point. I tend to have luck with not having stupid situations happen, so I don't always consider stuff like that.

    TOO MUCH.

Does the tank have to go through the house?

My boy said last and most expensive tank he did was 2900.

Im not sure what he charged for the last one I did with him, that was a bugger, 2 winches Jack's etc. Main reason he asked me instead of his normal helper, rigging....

    Anyway, you're in NAdams right?
Maybe I swing through and have a look?

Steel tank one of these fancy things?

Pretty sure we paid just over 4 for this in ‘21. Last and final tank for this house.

There's a bulkhead. No stairs in it currently because they were rotten so I ripped them out this spring. I figured I would just make sure to put new ones in before it was scheduled.

Technically, I am in Clarksburg but same difference. I just say North Adams area because it gives a chance of people knowing where. If you wanted to take a look I would certainly rather pay you or someone you know than someone I don't know. Especially if it's cheaper!

Corvette guys are a special breed. Fasterest most bestest car ever made. Try and point out a flaw in the car and it’s huiakriois. There’s this IMO ugly spoiler people out on the C5 that basically looks like a late 2nd Gen Camaro spoiler and it’s the Jesus spoiler since it was designed by the guy who helped design the C5. I called it ugly and you would have thought I punched Gandhi.
