Get one with an i5 and a dedicated graphics card, that way the amount of ram isn't eaten up by graphics.

 

Acer doesn't last and isn't worth shit when you try to get rid of it. ASUS makes nice things though.

 

I don't buy laptops to re-sell them...they are consumables...By the time you are done with them they are not worth the hardware in them. I have at least 4 sitting on a shelf here at home...Acer is a fine brand mix of quality vs cost...I love Asus and use all their Mobo's in my own pc builds...but I like acer for laptops...I have had travelmates and am now using an aspire 6930 now couch surfing...run them until they cannot perform well enough to accomplish what you need...

Thanks for the mention . For any gaming I would look for laptops with AMD processors. I say this because AMD's integrated graphics are better than Intel's. I haven't had experience with Lenovo, but a quick look, this laptops seems good for $450.

Thanks! I tried reloading everything once again last night and it still won't boot. It gets stuck in a cycle and never actually starts. I spent 4 hours letting everything reformat, download, etc and nothing. I got tired and fell asleep so still no computer at home. I'll call HP again tonight and see what they say. I wrote down the error message I got so hopefully that helps them figure this out.
