Dealer near me is getting a Tundra Limited Double Cab. I kind of want to go drive it. On paper and in reviews there are things that I am pretty sure would bug me about it, but I am still curious since it's my ideal combination. And because no one else makes a smaller cab in a well optioned trim level anymore.

In the very early phases of The Big Dig, we responded to a crash in the southbound side of the South Station tunnel in Boston. We arrived to find a MSP cruiser with a smashed in rear end. We also found a Dodge Intrepid with a smashed in front end. The kid driving the Intrepid had managed to go past the signs, through the cones, and smacked right into the rear of the cruiser.

No major injuries to the trooper and I walked over to check on the young kid who was being "talked to" by the Sergeant. As in yelled at. The Sergeant waved me off and I heard him (he was very load) asking the kid "HOW THE FUCK DID YOU NOT SEE THAT CRUISER?!"

The tunnel was very well lit, so that was not an excuse that was going to fly.

Yes. I'm going to guess 1995 or so. They were prepping the South Station tunnel for construction to turn it into a south bound only lane. Flip Phones were hi tech.

BTW, the driver of the Subaru is not "Getting a break" on the ticket.

Some people say the downfall of humanity is the internet, or cell phones, or ICBMs, etc. So many things.

    I disagree.

Scorpion trucks are where I see us, as a society, f'd.

We can't peel our eyes away from our phones long enough to see miles and miles of road work ahead signs, or see 100 feet ahead that there's big blinky lights, and maybe think "I should slow down so I don't kill anyone", nope. We had to invent and design mobile attenuaters to protect the people attending to/working on the shoulders. We pilot 2 ton death machines at 70 and not once think "Hm, there's someone there, let me try not killing them". Nope. Hammer down. If they don't see my headlights coming at them, that's on them, I got some angry birds to launch.

    get off my lawn.

Picked up some 1/4" hdpe stock (cutting board, Ocean State Job Lot, $5) to mount everything to and got the routing and layout figured out. It's shown mirrored here, just because of how I traced everything on cardboard to fit the mounting plate.

My in cab control panel currently has an arming switch (cutout) with LED "armed" indicator, and a dpdt momentary for winch in/out. This winch control circuit is fed 12v by the winch solenoid. I want to keep that independent of the other three switches, so the 3 pairs for the in-cab relay switches will be joined by an independent +12v fed from the bus bar.

The bus bar will be fed by 4AWG runs directly from the battery+ and battery-, run along the top of the firewall. This is way the hell more than big enough for the devices that will be in this circuit but I have it and it looks hella cool to have big wires.

The six relays here will be powering a DD 18" lightbar, a pair of DD flush mounts (amber backlights linked to fogs, white floods linked to light bar), the relays for my headlamp harness, and the horn, with one empty for some future dumbass thing (I want a PA horn SO BAD...)

So, this happened last night. Long story short, he shot the bear with a shotgun. Almost right away someone else arrived at his house with a truck, they loaded it into the bed, and took it away. Based on where they dragged it from, it was killed right next to the road. I called it in as soon as I heard the shots and the town police chief and state EPO were there for hours last night.

Whoa... That's pretty bad. So he shot it, knew damn well he shouldn't have and had someone come get it before the EPO showed up.

They were hustling. It was unbelievable how quickly the other guy showed up and loaded it up. I think they got it back and loaded it in the EPO's truck at the end of the night.

He confronted me because I think he saw me take photos. Based on what I could piece together from my few words with him and his conversation with the cop, he may not have an FID or LTC, and he may have fired a shot across the street to kill it. They went up to the scene pretty quickly, so I'm not sure how it played out in the end. My other neighbor who is closer said there was a lot of yelling.

Careful with that one, he sounds a bit unhinged... Hopefully they relieved him of his boom sticks, sounds like he's the type of shitbag that ruins it for all of us.

Gonna terminate all the cab controlled feeds with Deutsche connectors, waiting on those. Then it's just cut the HDPE, rearrange the headlight harness and splice it into the box, and mount everything.
