2020+ double cabs are pre wired for bed lights.

I considered the aftermarket third brake lights too - my use was for chase lights. I ended up with a roof rack for kayaks so it just makes more sense to run them off that instead.

    My dumb ass.....

so I pulled the 10A fuse for the airbags (I think). Next to it was an empty slot. Guess what slot has ignition triggered power, and doesn't interfere with the ABS, collision BS, lane departure BS, and headlight system (PS WTF is a headlight system error...?)?

If you guessed the wide open slot that I ignored, you would be correct!

    :tinfoilhat:

    7th times a charm, I guess.

EDIT: PS WTF is a headlight system error...?

Just googled it real quick - 99% chance it's from the auto high beams I forgot I have. Haven't used them in....however many days from when I bought the truck to today. Tried them a couple times, was not impressed.

Take it from me.....I have been there and done that and it took forever and a day to air up. The small pancake compressors will fill up the tank, the tank will fill up maybe 3/4 of a tire and then you are waiting for the compressor to fill up the tank again. The compressors on those things do not have the power to do direct air. It is actually better to save and spend your money on a viair 400p or a Smittybilt 2781. ARB compressors are great as well but they are more expensive. Some guys do have an onboard air tank for both airing up or to run air lockers but they are still being powered by a direct air style compressor like an ARB, Viair, or Smittybilt.

I have a Viair currently riding in the toolbag for tires. I want to use the tank as a burst tank for tools. Gonna make a manifold with a valve to go direct from the Viair for tires/fill the tank for impact or nailgun or whatever.

Sounds cool.....go for it then sir

This one seems cool to go with since it has everything that you might need instead of parting one out and building one yourself.....it might be cheaper in the long run

So I've messed with this compressor over and over and I cannot recreate the spark. Gonna roll with it... maybe something was loose...no idea

How hot was the comp when you saw the sparking, wondering if it got hot enough to tweak something internally just enough to short that one time and now that it's cool it doesn't?

Also, I think it was @adk_tacoma that has his sliders tapped as an air tank for a couple gallons? Always thought that was such a cool concept to implement

Not hot at all as soon as it sparked I disconnected it. When I took out the bolt it did not Spark but nothing is touching it.

So today I dropped it and opened the on off housing, buttoned it back up and cannot get it to spark. So it's fixed but I didnt find anything wrong.

This is why I need supervision

    Self medicated :rasta:
I just want a tank and use my big smitty to fill it while I air down. Then air up would go that much faster.
When I have work compressors with me I would have that much more tank volume.

Semi-related...well not really...but the early 70s Porsche Le Mans prototype race cars were tube framed. There was a Schrader valve on the frame and they filled the frame tubes with nitrogen. At pit stops they'd check the pressure. If it was down they knew there was a crack and would look for it

DW (Darrell Waltrip) tells about the time they put lead shot in the frame, pull a lever and it would come out on the track. The hole is where the jack picks up the car so during inspection it is hidden by the jack.

Is this the 'ACC sense wire' for AuxBeam that you've been chasing? Gonna try to get mine installed this weekend was hoping to find something to tap under the hood.
