What year and model is that? Any thoughts on why it went bad?

2022 4Runner ORP, I’m not sure, but I’ve got 54k on it and I’m sure the suspension change would be blamed and that was at 30k.

I just checked bolts and they were tight

If you take a prybar and pry around radially and there is "free" movement that isnt good. It will move some cause it is a bonded rubber bushing.

Possibly torqued when the suspension wasn't fully settled and the bushing wore prematurely?

Here's the torque specs should you need them:

Not sure, but at this point I figure it’s on me. We did just do the 100 mile White Rim Trail, and drove about 6/7k miles last month. I’ve heard it stated, you got to pay to play. I knew once I opened the suspension can of worms, it could lead to more things.

At this point I need to figure out what the next step is. I am thinking about just ordering a set of adjustable trailing arms (150 each) from Ironman which is where the rest of my suspension is from. I may have seen something on Amazon for 75ish.

As from what I read a special machine is need to press a new bushing.

I hope to be drivable by Tuesday, with possibly needed an alignment as well.

I can move them a little, but it doesn’t seem excessive

$150 a piece is pretty cheap. I like that in the video he mentioned anti-seize.

They were at 96 at least.

I was able to repeat the clunk just by backing straight into my drive way. I’m going to search/make some sort of check sheet/list to follow to ensure I check everything.
I think I was reading too much into the clean spot on the rear trailing arm. I put a folded up paper towel up in the spot, repeated the clunk thinking if it was rubbing there, the paper towel would tear or show some signs, but nothing.

So the noise is definitely from the L/R?

Why do they annoy you? If I need to replace, what would you suggest?

Its not a trailing arm, trailing arm is when you mount the shock on the link to get some motion ratio.

1.25" solid bar is not how you make a strong part. A greater diameter tube with enough wall thickness to not dent would be up to 2x the strength at the same weight. Like Not-A-Ross used the typical 2" OD 1/4" wall dom. There's this basic concept called moment of inertia.

I will look into it a little more, with how little lift you have I dont think you need adjustable ones but I am not as familiar with the platform.
