It’s supposed to snow here in the afternoon on Saturday so the earlier I get to work, the better. Another 8 inches forecast for next Thursday.

I would think it is ok, but haven't been under the truck in a while. I had planned on an alignment after the lift anyway.
I will also clean the bottom of the truck before the 9th. Get some of the woolwax off. Then spray everything with BP blaster.

How does one get a non running vehicle into a garage alone on a snowy driveway?

You most certainly can use the existing springs For your new shocks in the front but also understand that, due to them being 4 years old, they most likely will be either extremely rusted out or need to be replaced within the next year and a half to two years which will be necessary to take apart the shock again and replace it with new springs. unfortunately we live in New England and this is the way that it is

I should be able to bring my spring compressor yes, we are also going to need 4 clamps to take apart the rear leafs and put in the add a leaf.

thank you very much for trying to get as much woolwax as you can off of those areas because honestly, putting on a lift to begin with is very dirty and wool wax makes it....... well let's just say That much more sticky. What you want to do is Hit all Of these areas with PB Blaster:

The top nuts of the shock
the lower front shock bolt and nut
Both front and rear leaf spring bolts
The small 12 millimeter Bolt That connects the ABS line to the upper control arm
both the upper Not of the strut in the rear And the lower bolt and nut of those struts in the rear

You are also going to want to get 2 Stainless steel (if you can't get SS then zinc plated is fine) M10-1.25 x 50mm (or 55mm) Bolts for the carrier bearing And you want to get a stack of M10 Stainless steel Washers . what I mean by “a stack” is enough where if you stacked them up on top of one another it equaled out to about an 1 1/2" So we can split those washers up in between the two bolts for the spacing and we can dial it in anywhere between a 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch for possible driveline vibe tuning.

Unfortunately right now funds did allow for new springs also. I guess I will chance it at this point.

I will work on getting the parts you suggested. I did get a carrier bearing shim as part of the lift.

Hopefully the weather clears up some closer to the 9th. Don't want to be driving around to long in the winter without it protected. I might have to get a couple of cans and respray what I can.

I appreciate everyone's help. I would like to extend the offer of paying for pizza's for lunch.

If you did get a carrier bearing shim or drop then you will not need the M10 bolts and washers. I figured you only recieved the shocks, struts, and aal's. No worries about the springs.... They can always be swapped out at a different time.

Welp pulled a mini @AllTacosFloat and decided to fight some trees in lost. Looks like I have something to do for mod day.

Has anyone used the little touchup paints? Any tips would be appreciated.

I would hit that with some fine rubbing compound to see what scratches come off and then just grab a small bottle of touch-up from your local parts store. Less is more. If you apply too much, you could always wet sand and polish.

Sucks to see Jack! Paint pens are ok but you get what you put into the finish. Normally prep is key, here not so much and unfortunately time and weather are against you. Everything Harry said for sure.

Either way get a paint pen and cover the bare metal so rust won’t stain the paint and it will seal the edges.

Harry and I were trying to get together yesterday in Lawrence but weather sucked. Maybe we try for this Sunday? I have some of the hot glue dent puller’s and a mirror or 2. I have an extra passenger door but it’s silver.

Nothing good. Never went to the shop. Jacked it up Friday and have play in the inner tie rod. Going 555 instead of the gm 1 ton setup it has now. Hopefully they’ll be here by then.
Have one DK lower on the shelf I started to rebuild and both ears on the snap ring snapped… that’s my mission later in the week.

I don’t care too much, twas a good time, it’s a wheeler, and the doors still seal and work. I just picked up a mirror from orielys.

Will your shop be warm enough for paint? I’m not in too big of a rush. Most of the debt came out with a suction cup.

65 or so. Enough to setup but takes a while to cure.
