It worked when you clicked his link, but when you copied it, you just did a copy-paste and it copied the "......" in the middle of the link.
To copy from forum to forum, you need to right click the link and click "Copy link location"... it'll paste properly then.

I turn my truck on and plug in USB and it doesn't prompt me. What am I doing wrong? I formatted USB, put iso and txt file on there. Do I need to unzip the iso or something?

Like sonic said. If it's still not working, re-format the thumb drive and under under file system, make sure you select "fat" not "ntfs". Make sure the files are not in any sub folders or anything either.

Then you don't need to install the update. It's only for trucks with Entune apps and navigation.

How come mine doesn't have it if it's 2013. Yours is 2012 and you had it? Is it something Toyota can update or?

2012 here - update went smooth. No noticeable changes in daily use, but I didn't have any real problems with 2.1 either (response times and tech hardware aside, but entune is no IBM Watson).

Starting in 2013 all Tacomas came with touchscreens but not all of them are Entune enabled. It was an upgrade, cost like $2,000 for the JBL audio w/ Entune and navigation. In 2012 you got a basic radio or the radio that I have. 2014 is weird though, now they have "levels" of entune or something. I haven't bothered to really figure it out.

Did the TRD come with it? What actually does entune do other than have the map app etc? My dad just bought a 2014 Venza and his has the apps button with maps and stuff. Come on Toyota, I got the SR5 package but missed out on this?

It has pandora and a few other apps, plus upgraded jbl speakers with a subwoofer and navigation. It doesn't come stock on any package (except maybe the limited). It's a pricey option.

Thanks Brad. No big deal, I was going to upgrade the speakers and add a sub anyways. It had Bluetooth audio so I'm happy with it. I wonder if there are ever updates for non Entune heads?

For the price of the upgrade, you can get much better equipment. I haven't seen any talk of updates for the standard radios but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Not really sure on that one.

I am sure the FW on the 2014's have all the fixes. When this 3.1 was released the new models were just getting built.

Ha ha! I figured it out!! I knew I wasn't crazy when I said my audio would make a ding or such when I received a text. The audio source must be in either iPod or BT. I wish it did it on SAT.
