the 1gr v6 has probably one of the worst exhaust notes i have ever heard... and you dont gain much of anything as far as performance with an aftermarket exhaust on our trucks.

I was just talking to our custom exhaust shop here in town last week. Asked him about re-routing the crossover on my Tacoma. I mentioned my desire to do a true dual exhaust some day. He emphatically told me NO and that I would have to find someone else to do it other than him. He also told me never to straight pipe my truck either.

He said these modern engines don't do well that way and he wouldn't do it for me because he truly believed it would hurt my truck's performance. He said the motor in the Tacoma needs the back pressure and by going to dual or straight pipe I'd be removing the back pressure and engine performance would suffer.

Exhaust cutout with muffler of your choice, sounds mean on down shifts and doesn't drone at highway speeds. Plus you have the option of opening or closing it... Best of both worlds
