Just got it today and it took just a few minutes to put it on. We'll see how it does for water protection later. But for now, I'm pretty happy with it. Very sturdy, great design. And I like that the whole thing comes off in less than 90 seconds. I hemmed and hawed for several weeks. Almost went with the Fold-a-Cover. So many trade-offs. But this was my best compromise.

I read a lot of posts where people don't use the provided brackets. I certainly could see how that would work fine. But the brackets are nice because they move the handles away from sides to allow easier maneuvering of the handles and front clasps. You don't need to the the "5 washer" thing. And, they don't really reduce the amount of the room that the moveable tie down anchors can slide back and forth. Here are some pics.

looks good, at least they used the rails instead of a whole new system like the oem. that way you can do a clean un-install unlike the oem where you have to change out the side bed rails to get rid of the posts.

Yes, it does. But no cutting of the bed liner, and it pops off in seconds. It's not that heavy to carry around either. I'm assuming you are trying to bash it's looks. You'll have have to try for a better insult because I honestly could care less about the looks. I want something that works well, and keeps the water out. Time will tell.

I had those same thoughts too. The BAKFlip was a contender for me because of that option, no question. But in the end, I didn't really wanna haul around stuff that needed the whole bed but prevented me from seeing out the back at traffic, or to monitor the load I'm hauling (e.g. look for any logs that would fall out). So that made me go with something that comes all the way off quickly and easily, and doesn't leave all kinds of external rails and crap on the truck.

Awesome! Really like how easy it is to pop on and off. Rather do that for the amount of times I need complete use of the full bed as opposed to folding it up to block the rear window.

Can't wait to get mine, next week hopefully!

It's pretty much $819 everywhere, as far as I could tell. So I went to eTrailer.com and used their 5% off coupon code. Free shipping. So it was $788.

It does seem secure. Of course, no cover is going to keep the real thief from getting in. You can pull the back up a little, and have a peak inside. But you're not gonna be able to reach in. I could lower the rear brackets to make it tighter, but I'm not all that worried about it.

I've had one of these on my AC long-bed for about a year an a half, and I love it. Takes less that five minutes to remove, so the whole bed argument is weak. Either way, with the 6 foot bed we rarely need to take it off. I've stood on it, used it as a bench in the folded position, and strapped stuff on top while also carrying more important items in the bed. It only leaks in the spray wash - as expected. It's pretty secure with the tailgate locked (added a locking handle too). I use the brackets in front, but not in the rear. My wife has a little trouble pulling the handles down to open and close it, but I don;t have any problems. Because the springs are strong it stays put and doesn't rattle or move at all. The only complaint I have is that some of the smaller screws are not stainless, and they are starting to rust. I'm thinking about pulling them out and replacing them with stainless a couple at a time.

Yeah, it's a tough decision. I was 100% sure I was gonna get a BAKFlip. Then 100% sure I was gonna get a Fold-a-Cover. LOL. But I'm glad I waited to think about it more because this was the best decision for my personal situation.

Thanks for the photos! Is there some type of gasket where the cover sits on the tail gate? Can't tell by the photos, it almost looks like there is a gap between the cover and top of the tail gate.

God damn it if Extang wouldn't have sent me the incorrect 6' cover I would have been set. Just have to wait a little longer. Looks good OP can't wait to install mine!

There are small phillips head screws on the side of the hinges.

There is a thick rubber gasket that takes up the space between the cover and the top of the closed tailgate. It gets pushed in when you close the tailgate, so it kind of looks like nothing is there in some pics. Note that I have a 2013, and the OP's pics are of a 3rd gen.

The cover has a 360deg rubber gasket. We just had some rain and my bed was totally dry. I`m not sure on how it will do driving in a down pour, but the cover is very nice.

Thanks for the post about the cover. I have the same cover sitting in the box in my garage and the same truck (DCOR mag grey) in the driveway but it's raining. I will look forward to installing it tomorrow.

I put a solid fold on my 2011 and sold it with the truck.
I like solid fold and since I see they are available for the 2016 will order now! Best cover out IMO!

Yep just ordered they no longer make the original sold fold and I paid 819. but they are a great cover. Folds out of the way. rarely need to take it off.
