Do you have pictures of your tail gate / behind the cab seal? Any instructions on how you made / bought them?

The rubber seal by cab is from another cover I sent back from tonno pro. It's about an inch thick and adheres to the top of the pick up behind cab. Was able to push the extang right op against it for an extra layer of defense and tail gate seal was from tonno pro also. Extang makes a tail gate seal you can order. No pics right now

Is there a way to loosen the quick release handles on the solid fold 2.0? The tension is a little too much right now, pulling the cover too tight and letting water in right in line where the handles are on the sides.

    Thanks

Believe it or not they actually cut down on mpg very slightly. Best fuel mileage is open bed with tailgate closed. It creates a low pressure in the bed area lifting up on the back end slightly. Saw this on myth busters testing an air gate.

Hello everyone well I finally decided to install my tri fold cover I had it sitting in the garage for two weeks great way to spend 800 dollars right and not even use it lol I was even planning of returning the dam thing but I decided to open it and install it today.

My overall experience with it compare to oem is that it looks almost the same as oem but extang has a lighter weight one person can carry it and remove it and its secured really good on the bed and its super tight, when I was testing out the oem it was super heavy for one person and the cover was super lose at the end and one con I didn’t like is that you can stick a coat hanger wire you will be able to open it even when you have your tailgate locked.

The fact that this cover doesn’t have the wire to pull on it to open it’s a major plus for me I can lock my tailgate and I know my stuff will be safe. The pull handle are a little bit to stiff so you have to use a lot of strength to place it on the clamps, other members suggested to loosen up the nut by the handle which I did still no results the nut fell off lol so just place it back how it was. I used all extang clamps people were using the rails for clamps and where having a lot of issues so I just follow the instructions it comes with an L wrench, I also removed end clips.

I would recommend you to get some help 2 people at least that way both side are even out, and I also had my car on even surface since my driveway has a high pitch. I definitely recommend this cover to anyone that’s has been thinking about getting solid 2.0 it took me a month to decided if I should purchase this cover lol

Question: So my dealer (on my order coming in next month)has just emailed me informing their entire shop has agreed they will not be installing Extang Tri-fold tonneau covers because they feel they do no fit properly. They told me I could order the Toyota oem one, but it would take 3 months to get in, and will cost more.

I'm a little miffed! I was under the impression these fit great...thoughts??

Sounds to me like your dealer does not want to buy you a Extang Solid Fold 2.0

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...liid=I3C3R3PX7E8QQC&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl

You can buy one yourself from this Amazon seller. Cheapest I have found. If you want you can take 12 months to pay for it interest free. This one is for a 6' bed but I'm sure he has 5' bed covers also.

I have a long bed. I'm from Canada, so Amazon.com doesn't work for us...though I can get it for $1000CAD with free shipping online.

I've been super happy with mine. Paid $680 shipped from Luke at Truck Alterations (vendor on here). I think it fits perfect, even better than the original Solid Fold I had on my 2007 Tacoma.

Its not a matter of getting the right price...partsengine.ca had them at one point for $950..think its $1050 now. Its just Country Hills Toyota here in Calgary pissing me off by not adding it to my purchase because they dont like how it fits... so they say.

Mines been on for a few weeks now. Rain, and snow and so far very little if any water has entered the bed. Solid feeling to it. I have had my bed frozen shut once though due to ice along the lip, but it was easy enough to chip the ice away.

Ahhh, my 2012 had a Extang, and one day I had no patience on a frosty day...ripped all the frozen-on foam pads off...lesson learned lol
