I don't think anyone consciously does if the customer doesn't say anything (and most don't know). They will just throw a metric shittonne of weight on the wheel to get it to balance.

Got mine installed yesterday 265-75r16 SL. Loved my AT3's, I'm sure I'll feel the same with the AT4's as well!
Just a PSA, the lettering is different. Raised black on one side vs regular letters, so specify if you have a preference.

And they lined up the dot BUT according to the article the red dot takes precedence so I wonder if they lined the red dot up with the highest point and it just so happened that the green dot also lined up with the valve?(I just learned about this today so I really have no clue)

Yep - when I got mine mounted they gave me 3 with block letters out and one with other letters out. This was after I had already waited 3 hours ...

DT usually treats me ok, but on my cayman recently I specifically requested black weights since they are so visible on those rims. Forgot to check until a week or so later. Damn.

I just swapped from 285/70r17 AT3W SL to the same size in AT4W SL. Big thanks to @Discount Tire for the help!

Thoughts so far, comparing to AT3W
-Tires are heavier, feels harder to maintain 65-70mph w.o downshifting.

-These must be bigger than the same size AT3W. I used to barely skim the fender liner/mudflap with at3ws on hard turns with a dip, now I can't even full lock the wheel and turn or backup with ripping the fender liner out, w.o a dip. I need to get a heat gun and do some molding to help with the rubbing.

-They are a bit firmer, I don't "feel" the road through the vehicle nearly as much as I used to. Driving feels buttery smooth. Extra sidewall ply? Deeper lugs maybe?

-Tires looks far more aggressive then the AT3W did. There's a bit more depth to the lugs I feel.

-Tires are about the same loudness. The AT4Ws "might" be slightly louder, however I used a decibel meter to check at various speeds with both tires, on the same strip of road. Pretty much the same IMHO.

-Rain performance seemed the same, which was awesome.

Overall, I'm mostly satisfied with these tires. I do need to measure how much bigger they are, they may be closer to 33 than the AT3W (32.8 I think?).

They are 33.1 to be exact.

Makes sense on why it seems "harder" to maintain speed, MPG hit, and rubbing.

I haven't been able to pass 15.2 MPG yet, down from 18.5-21. the extra bit of size + weight hit it a bit. Not being able to turn sucks as well. I'll do some molding this weekend

    I lied, it is a 33 and not a 33.1 (thought I was in the 255/85R16 thread)

Going to order five from @Discount Tire soon. Has anyone gone with the 235/85/16s? Thoughts?

Mine in 255/85r16 are incredibly smooth as well. Balanced with weights.

Wait, where did you find these specs?

I thought I made a mistake and ordered the wrong size so I went to check.

    285/70r17
DT states on their site, as well as Falkens website

    At3W 32.76, 51lbs 13" depth
    At4W 32.8, 54lbs 14" depth

I feel like I'm missing something here lol

Nope, you are correct, I was looking at the C rated tire not the SL. I need Sleep. I'll shut up now, sorry!

    No worries.

Now I'm even more concerned how my MPG was tanked lol. Oh well.

Something to really emphasize tho, is how quite they are, and smooth.

With the AT3 I was able to "feel" the road much more, however the tires made less wind noise.

The AT4 for the most part eliminates the road noise/feeling, however the tires do make a slight amount of wind noise.

Slight tradeoff but it leads to a much more pleasant driving experience. Truck feels buttery smooth moving across the asphalt.

How would you rate the ride quality on the road with E's?
