I would actually like a softer pack so that interest me. I'm not loaded a lot of times but then at times I over load big time. I go from an empty bed to 2000 pounds in the bed. Haha

That big of a weight swing is tough to account for with just a leaf pack. Probably better to just get the regular leaf pack and have air bags in that case.

Filled with gas again this morning and confirmed...I've gained over 1mpg with the 255/85/16s, even at their weight. Call me happy. :D

General Grabber ATx 265/75/16. The rolling resistance is quite a bit less with these AT4w tires. The truck is hardly working @ 65mph.

I'm torn between the AT4Ws and the new Duratrac RTs.

Thanks for sharing! I've been looking at this option for my next tires, and this definitely helps. Can you share a picture of your truck with the 255/85/16s? I've been looking at getting that size as well. Thanks!

The AT4W is supposed to be a good tire in the rain. What's your experience with it been like?

They are good, the Generals might have been a bit better, but I won't complain!

Thanks, I'm running about 2 1/2 (maybe a touch less). The rear springs are shot, add-a-leaf is the only thing keeping it somewhat level at this point... probably put the new ones in tomorrow, Ironman 4x4 Heavy load (440#).

I'm looking at the same tire. Any rubbing? Not just driving on flat ground but while articulating.

On either side, at about 3/4 to lock, I will get a real minor rub. I am running RekGen mudflaps and have 1" spacers. If I pulled the spacers, I could probably eliminate the rub, or I could likely have the alignment shop make a minor adjustment. I did take a heat gun to the inner fender liner, which did help a little.

You did the calcs at the pump with GPS odometer readings? If you have an uncorrected speedo and used your truck odometer then your readings will be way off.

Calculated at the pump, corrected speedo (verified by GPS).

Wow! Forgive me for being skeptical, getting better mpg from bigger tires is pretty rare LOL. You must be pretty happy

Actually, kinda surprised. They are taller, but narrower. I can clearly feel the reduced rolling resistance and am sure that's the difference. My KDMax tune absolutely shines with these tires too.

Will a 255/85R16 AT4W fit in the stock spare tire location?
