New Falken Wildpeak AT4W ????

My old 265/75R16 SL AT3W tires wouldn't stay balanced and I'd get that steering wheel shimmy above 50mph. Had to rebalance them quite a few times.

I only have about 1k miles on my 255/85R16 C AT4W tires and so far no issues. But I knew this time to have them line up the dots and valve stems. We'll see how it goes after 5k or 10k miles.

I really wouldn't mind trying these out but made in Thailand (china) tires just bugs me. I have had a tire that was supposed to be well made just straight come apart on me and it turned out to be a manufacturing defect. That manufacturing defect cost me a pretty stout trip to the hospital. The AT3 was made in japan.

 

Sorry you had a 'manufacturing defect', but it happens, no matter where things are made...and Thailand isn't China. A lot of major manufacturers are doing business in Thailand these days. Honda has several motorcycle lines built there...with very few problems.

 

After literal years of stalking this site and trying to decide what to do, I finally pulled the trigger on 255 85r16 AT4s. Stock TRD Pro.

Looks great! How is your clearance with the 2in front lift on the TRD Pro? Any noticeable change in power / fuel economy or too early to tell?

 

I'm assuming they are E loads?

 

As has been said, possible minor rubbing, which can be eliminated with a proper alignment. I went from 265/75/16 E-rated to the 255/85/16 C's and hardly noticed much of a difference. The height difference is offset by reduced rolling resistance. In town, I take a hit to the MPG, on the highway, it's considerably better.

I'm just over 2" of lift.

 

Negative. The AT4w is a C rated tire at 255/85/16.

 

I will say, they are a very stout C rating.

So far so good with these! The truck feels more planted and has a nice feel while driving. I don't notice any difference as far as power loss or needing hit the throttle more. I had the original kevlar Goodyear wranglers before, which I personally didn't like at all. Truck was out of alignment, possibly since new. So I obviously had that taken care of when these tires were mounted.

On 2nd gen tacoma and F150 my favorite tire ever has been General Grabber AT2 / ATx. Didn't have 255 85 16 size though. Hoping these AT4s will be my new favorite!

Sounds great. I’m running a 6112/5160 combo with Icon RXT. Just a wee bit over 2” lift in the front. Probably 2.5” in the rear. Just need to run out another 5-8k on my current shoes and I’ll be getting these. I do a 5 tire rotation so I tend to get a full 55-60k of miles.

 

I was considering going with the 235/85/16 (E rated) skinnies but I won't be able to upgrade my stock suspension until later next month after my bonus hits and my current tires are in desperate need of replacing. Does anyone know if the added weight of a loaded Decked system and bed rack on the stock leaf spring would cause fitment issues in the rear if I do go with the skinnies? I have a feeling I'll need to go to the SL rated 265/75/16 this go around.

 

I'm at 36 PSI which seems fine so far. Your tires don't look so congested with that nice aftermarket bumper/front clip.

You are on stock rims? if yes - than yes it will fit. maybe you will need to remove mudflap.here is a comparison
