Some side by sides of 265/75R16 SL At3W with 255/85R16 C AT4W. It's easy to see why the AT4W got heavier, especially in LT load levels when seeing how much more rubber and beefier the tread lugs and side biters are (the At3Ws have around 26k miles and corresponding lower tread but even new were not as deep). The tread section is visibly narrower on the 255s but in person and in practice I honestly don't really notice it being narrower, the chunkier side lugs of the C load might be partially offsetting the on paper narrower width.

You can also see the changes in tread lug shape and siping too, it makes sense to me why the AT4W is supposed to be tougher but slightly less good in snow.

The larger diameter will have an effect too but a narrower width will help offset it, and sounds like your increase in weight will be less proportionally than mine was.

If you are wanting a bit more lower RPM torque I've really liked the manifold spacer, it drops the peak power band to around 3K RPM and changes the power curves so there's more torque accessible at the lower RPMs where we are normally driving (to me it makes the engine feel a bit more truck like favoring torque). This has helped me pick up and go a bit better and really helped the truck settle down and cruise in higher gears on the highway where before even with a tune if would still shift way too often.

Thanks! This is very helpful. Did you install the manifold spacer? If so , how difficult was it?

None whatsoever and they've been great since day one. Maybe the E loads have trouble balancing but these SLs didn't.

Not too difficult, just quite a few bolts to swap out and you need to be sure you have the top of the manifold up and out of your working area - I hung mine off the hood to avoid reconnecting every wire connection. The main thing is to make sure you have every one of the intakes covered so an errant socket can't fall in - I stuffed towels into each one and was a good thing I did as my socket assembly came off and tried to go in if they hadn't been plugged up! My main thing I'd do differently would be to figure a more comfortable way to access the hood area for working since with the truck sitting higher it was an ergnomic problem i didn't think of until I was partway into work.
