Reviving this thread. 2023 Ranger Raptor revealed. 392 hp and 430 lb-ft 3.0L twin turbo V6 with anti-lag system. 10-speed auto with paddle shifters.

    [IMG] [IMG]

4-link coil rear suspension. Disappointingly, stock tires are only 33" (285/70-17), but the frame is clear of large cab mounts or anti-intrusion bars, so fitting 35s or 37s might be easier:

Looks great! The Aussies get it and Europe but will North America? Ford is definitely trying, some great stuff.

Well there is a competitor, the last gen was fugly on the outside and worse on the inside. Still not a fan of ford trucks since the 98 power stroke.

A few have been lifted, modded where I live and they look way better. Like any stock truck kinda boring at first.

Fair, but the last gen was rough and the inside when I sat in one was one of the worse interiors I have seen in a long time.

I realize there are a lot of Ford loyalists in the world. I own some Ford stock. That being said, I have owned two Fords and both croaked before 100,000 miles. The first was a 1980 Mustang that fell victim to spontaneous combustion, when it had about 90,000 miles on it. I don’t think the insurance company ever determined exactly what caused the fire. The just said it was electrical.

The second was an 86 Ford Taurus. The biggest headache I ever had. It was constantly in the shop. I was relieved when the motor finally blew at about 86,000 miles. After that, I bought a little Nissan Hardbody truck that ran forever.

I realize there are people that are lifelong Ford enthusiasts and that’s great. They obviously have had better luck with Ford than I have and I’m happy for them.

I will never buy another Ford product because of my personal experience. If Fords are you thing and they run well for you, I’m happy for you.

Yeah because the last gen had been on sale since 2011 in foreign markets. That said, the interior is still better than 2nd gen Tacomas'.

Looks badass. The current RR looks pretty nice, having never seen one in person. Maybe Ford wiil sell the new one here. Although I wouldn't want to pay the asking price.

Ford confirmed it for here. I'm guessing it will be $80-90k in canuckistan pesos depending on dealer markup.

I'm concerned for the wide fenders though. The Taco is already too wide for our trails here, getting lots of pinstripes every trip.

Car & Driver thinks it’ll start around $45k, similar to the Pros and ZR2s and Gladiator Rubicons / Majoves

    https://www.caranddriver.com/ford/ranger-raptor

the new F150 Raptor starts around $70k so I can’t imagine they bump too close to that loaded out or they’ll lose Ranger sales to the F150

I appreciate this design. It's not super Bro in your face IMO. Sure the grill is standard Bro Ford, but mostly just a jacked up mid size with power train and some hardware goodies to back it up.
    I give it a TW 8/10. Up here I'm picturing 80,000 retail.:canada:

75 inches for the Tacoma vs 79 inches for the raptor, basically a Tacoma with bushwacker flares. If it’s the same price as the gladiator rubicon $72k they will sell a fair amount here in one of the best countries in the world.

I thought the Ranger Tremor Lariat, and regular Lariat 4x4s are going for over $40k.

Could be. And with dealer markups these days who knows where it’ll end up. I’m sure the first couple months it’ll be bonkers

Unless you have to have a RR, there will probably be a lot of shoppers who will drive away in a F-150. Maybe the availability of the RR will bringing the price down on the F-150. I still like the Ranger XL super cab.

I still want to see a Bronco regular cab pick up. Ford could model that after the IH Scout pick up.

I think there was a Bronco pickup rumored back in the day but they killed it when the Ranger came back.

That's what I hear. I doubt if the 2dr Bronco will be in production for as long as Ford builds the new Bronco. Since there is no regular cab Ranger, a regular cab Bronco truck could fill that gap in the segment.
