I'm telling you, that would appeal to a lot of people in the Suburban Midwest. There are a lot of guys who wouldn't drive a Rdgeline who would drive this to soccer practice.

The Ranger was a mini version when it was first introduced. The first truck I ever drove for work was a lifted full sized Ranger 4x4 V8, probably what became the F250. I had mixed feelings about driving it and ended up deciding I didn't need or want something that big. Parking and drive ability are a bitch in hilly urban areas for a truck that size so not everyone uses smaller trucks for soccer practice or wheeling, many use them for work simply because they're the right tool for the job.

Ah bummer, I like everything except the front 15% of it. Looks like they went for every ounce of aero they could while keeping it truck like. Interested to see what the MPGs are.

Why does the Ford badge on the tailgate stick out 2 damn inches? Looks like a growth.

    Just noticed that. :puke:

Other than that truck looks pretty good to me.

Does it house the back up camera? If not then de-badge FTW. You may even pick up 1/2 mpg or so with the weight savings.

I think we all agree this is gonna be great for accelerating development in the segment?

Who here is going to buy a ranger?

Who thinks it just plain doesn't compete with our trucks?

Who's gonna wait for the Frontier?

    Yes I'm trolling

Can't speak for others but for me this is mostly just a chance to jabber. Pushing 60 now so my taco may be the last truck I buy for work. I mainly post in this thread in the vain hope that someone at Ford or Toyota pays attention to those that are interested in the value of small trucks and the preferred features that go into them. Someday maybe I'll get to buy a vehicle with a different set of priorities in mind.

Similar age as bagleboy, except older, rolled over 67. I’m looking for something newer, but skeptical about buying any new model of anything. I’ve worked in aerospace most of my life so I appreciate buying something that is #300000 or greater than the first. Statistics of manufacturing and 6sigma and process control. So the ranger is out.

I took a 18 frontier for a spin, ok but did not seem the level of ride, quality and quiet of the Tacoma.

Looking for something to tow 2000# over the mountains and into them without a problem. No cell coverage to call for and aid truck. Also to be my local beater as I baby my M235xi vert, my replacement to my motorcycle riding.

You can't debadge the ford decals usually. Or the side vent area ones. They aren't stick on, there is a hole in the truck body that they attach into, you can debadge a lot of the truck, but Ford will not let you disguise it's a ford, without buying a custom replacement badge, or bodywork.

I like everything but the front of this truck pretty much. I will never buy one though, even though the engine will be great and the inside will be more comfortable than the taco. I had a 15 f-150 and it basically doesn't work in the winter, which is why I now have a 18 taco. It seems to take Ford about 3 years to fix the issues on their new models, so I'd wait until a '21 model comes out. Although, it seems Toyota has done similar with the issues the tacos have.

I saw it in person at the 2019 Philadelphia International Auto Show yesterday! I think it's a really sharp-looking truck!

But simple things shouldn't cost $42k. Looking forward to see where Ford prices this.

Do you think that twin turbo diesel model is coming to the United States? Don't get your hopes up.
