I have zero interest in a diesel, but I hope they bring it here with a powerful gas burner.
That truck looks WAY, WAY, WAY, better than the current Tacoma. They would certainly sell well here, but for what it will cost, it won't even compete with Tacoma sale...at least that's my guess.

I agree about the diesel. I bet the 0-60 is in 10+ seconds range, no thanks. I'm sure more people need the power to get on an on ramp than torque.

Supposedly Watt's rear link suspension which will be nice.

The US will get a version of the Ecoboost 2.3.

Though powerful, I've seen current 2.3's go boom in Mustangs and let's not look past the Focus RS's with the wrong head gaskets.

Lastly, i'd still stay far away from any DI engine that doesn't also have port injectors. Ford updated the 3.5 and 5.0 with dual injection, still waiting to see them do that with the 2.7/3.0 v6 and 2.3/2.0.

I see these going for mid 40's msrp with likely a 10-20k markup by dealers.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I have a 94 Ranger and it was nearly flawless mechanically. Only issue was a leaking power steering pump at 100k due to salt in the Ohio winters. I'd have no reservations about a Ford pickup quality/reliability as compared to the Tacomas, which are far from perfect.

We had extremely reliable Chevy's in the past with all Toyota's having quite a few issues.
Just here to share the :crapstorm: with you...

4Runner has been great so far though! Hopefully I finally get some Toyota reliability and quality out of this one.

I do hope the Raptor version comes to NA and that it's priced competitively. I can see it being more than the Pro or ZR2, but hopefully not by much.

If it has the same styling as the current Exploder then it will be a decent looking truck.

Competition is good. Good for Ford - hope it comes here with the diesel option. Curious to see if Toyota has the desire to compete on a more direct level.

Am I one of the few people that loves his tacoma and also is excited for this ranger raptor? Probably won't buy one, but it looks sweet

I'm with you on this, want to see one in person but from the windshield back I really like it. Anytime there is more competition the customer benefits (well unless it's completely rigged somehow) I am excited to see what new TRD options come out tomorrow from Toyota too. We are in an amazing automotive age as far as companies pushing platforms to the edge, all under warranty. I hope this encourages Toyota to take some chances and go big.
