I don't know who came up with this tech first... but Toyota Has "Craw Control" the Ranger has "Terrain Management" nearly identical in concept...

    TFLT review.

Things that make me not care about the new Ranger
    1. NO MANUAL TRANSMISSION
    2. It is a Ford (I am not much of a Ford fan)
    3. NO Ranger RAPTER for the USA
    4. NO MANUAL TRANSMISSION

    5. Plain old halogen reflectors unless you go Lariat (then cool LEDs). Same with the F-150.

I don't like the placement of the 4x4 and terrain mgmt selectors. I think this will do way better than the Colorado/Canyon but I don't see it knocking over the Taco in sales. I wonder why they did not do a v6 eco-boost, that would have made many of us jealous. Also I like the Ford Infotainment system. Toyota's Entune Sucks.

Actually I kind of like the 4 banger turbo... Coming from a Turbo 4 cyl background (previously had a Subaru Boxer) I can appreciate the Turbo 4 Cyl EcoBoost...

Nope, that truck is plain down ugly, to me I would almost prefer the ridgeline look, except it is also very ugly.

That motor will allow you to get so much more power out of it with a tune.

Not saying Toyota was the innovator of this tech (they were the first to bring it to mid size truck if I am not mistaken) just pointing out Ford is now offering something similar. I imagine something like this will be standard in every 4x4 at some point due to the laziness factor. It basically drives itself... This is like a sniper rifle that tracks it's target eliminating the need for advanced shooting skill. (they already have that tech too www.tracking-point.com)

Everyone wants stuff to be easier... Cause we are becoming lazy.

Aha. I thought you might be genuinely wondering who came up with it. :notsure:

It's just progress and innovation man. Get a horse and ride to work...yeah...I didn't think so. :) One day our kids and grand kids will look down at our trucks for not being able to automatically drive through trails.

That is what I am saying the art and finesse of old are fading away. I know it's going to happen it is just kind of sad.

Eventually Manual Transmissions will be no more, they already are on many vehicles... I call my manual transmission a millennial theft prevention device.

Looks like a wide angle lens is distorting the lines a bit.
