    Hey guys,
Was curious what your opinions were on the value a 1st gen 2004, 4x4 ,Xtra cab truck, 2.7L , that has had the frame professionally replaced at Toyota.

So let's say the truck is worth $8,000 by NADA before replacing the frame. How much extra value do you feel the new frame has added to the vehicle?

Also new leafs, extra leafs, and Bilstein 5100s added at the time.

    Thanks!

Personally, I don't consider it to "add" value. Prior to the frame replacement your truck was worth considerably less than the NADA value because it had a frame that was made mostly of rust and arthritis. Reframing it just brings the value back to where it's supposed to be. It doesn't add anything to the NADA value, technically. If you total it you're not going to get an extra $2k over the NADA price from your insurance company because of the new frame, for example.

BUT, the market reflection (around here, at least, since we're in the rust belt) seems to be that the new frame adds a couple grand to the asking price. YMMV depending on where you live. :notsure:

Its a lame response, but it's worth whatever someone will pay for it.

If I was in the market and the NADA value was listed at $8K, thats what I would pay expect to pay for a truck. If the frame was shitty or starting to rust heavily, I would work my way down from $8K, not assume it goes up because there is a new frame.

Most people know about the frame replacement program through Toyota and are expecting older models that fall into that category to have the rust issue already addressed.

Fwiw I would pay as little as possible for a truck with a replaced frame. Toyota doing the job or whoever. That said whatever condition it was entered to get estimate I would drop it some, then try and get close to that value.
    My .02

Which means if it were my truck it would be driven till it dies, or traded for a new one.
