New frame being installed/ need help with cab mount chop

hi, in Rhode Island and have my taco at the dealership getting a new frame under recall. Can anyone in the local area help or steer me to someone who can help me do a CMC ?

why not do it yourself? buy an angle grinder or sawzall and get to work. its not hard.

 

Won't they need a welder to weld the plate on?

 

I don’t have a problem cutting it off.... I just need someone to weld new plate on

 

Ok didn’t mention that in the original post so I wasn’t sure if you wanted it plated.

For what it’s worth, my cab mounts are cut back as far as they possibly can, and they’re still open. I have a welder, and I have no reason to plate them. Keeping them open makes it easier to keep them clean of mud and road salt and shit.

 

You know I honestly never thought to do that. I think it should be find if you leave it open and just make sure it's painted so it won't rust right?

I actually have a die grinder and can do my own CMC if that's all it takes.

 

Yea if you’re not jumping your truck the cab mount will still be strong enough. I wheel mine pretty hard and my cab mounts have been open for 5 or 6 years atleast.
