Currently own a 1987 Toyota Pickup with 2.4L, four speed, and A/C. It only has 245,000 miles on it. Still have people stop me wanting to buy it.

The truck runs fine and gets good fuel economy while towing (23MPG), as long as I don't run over 55MPH. We tow a 1000lb Chalet LTW camper in the NC mountains and South Carolina.

Would like to buy a new Tacoma 2.7L with manual transmission during the next 6 months. Plan to use it towing the camper in the lower 48 starting next year and hope to keep it at least 25 to 30 years! :)

Interested in learning about the new Tacoma.

    Appreciate the Welcome from everyone.

Like to Kayak on Lake Norman and visited Mooresville yesterday. Hope to be camping on the BRP this weekend and might take the Pickup on Old NC 105 on the west side of the Linville Gorge, depending on where we camp.

Any recommendations on dealers that give the best deals on the Tacoma in NC or SC?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the welcome.

Spend lots of time around Marion on motorcycles and the Miata. Here's a shot of the Pickup on Old NC 105 with Shortoff mountain in the background:

Bill, Welcome to TW from AZ! Bill here also!

Been on quite a few of your NC roads....spent a week or more each year up in Robbinsville and play on the bikes at Deals Gap...one of many of my favorite places

Here's another photo I took on Old NC 105 while driving the Toyota Pickup.

Drove right by the Bear and it looked like he was sitting on the side of road waiting for me to pass by. Did not slow down or stop since my window was down and he was about 10 feet away on my side . After I passed the Bear, stopped a "safe" distance away & took this photo :). It was the largest Black Bear I have ever seen.

Welcome to TW from Western NC! I live just on the other side of Asheville in Canton. I like about 10-15 minutes from the BRP. If I see you driving through I'll try and throw my hand up!

You wanted to know of a good dealership around the area it is Jim Barkley Toyota. My buddy just recently bought a 2011 Tacoma 4DR TRD Sport (8 miles on it) w/an ARB bumper on it and walked out the door with it for $25,XXX (also traded in his 2001 Dodge 2500). Another buddy of mine just recently went there and bought a 2011 Tundra with the 5.7L in it (11 miles on it). He walked out the door for $26,XXX. If you talk them down and see what you can get I'm pretty sure you can get a good deal.

    Thanks for the welcome!

As you can see, I take lots of photos. Here is a shot (avatar photo) after a camping trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway towing a 1200lb camper, Kayaks, and the back of the Pickup loaded with camping gear. The Pickup just keeps on towing & running :)!

No problem! Is that an overlook on the BRP?
