When airbags start going off it usually means the crunch zones have started to do their job and collapse as intended. With the structural Frame also being bent and 6 airbags going off I'm betting its Total loss and if not get another opinion. I myself would not want it back. Just my opinion and glad everyone is ok. :hattip:

OP, sounds like you are okay and that is what is important. I am a big believer in Toyota safety. Check out this accident that happened in Portland this week. A Toyota Avalon was going the wrong way on I-5 and hit a semi head on. A later story said both people in the Avalon were not wearing seat belts and it is amazing nobody died. First link has a close up picture of the Avalon and second link has follow up information.

Because that’s how it works. I evaluate risks for a living. I also spend time in court for things and know how that process works. Typically everyone with any possible liability is sued. While I don’t agree with it, that’s the way it is done. I don’t really care if you believe it or not, you are free to your own opinions on the internet.

Yah, looks totaled to me. Sorry. :(

Mine did not look much different than yours when I wrecked it in early December. If there was any good time to total mine, it was now. The insurance company gave me essentially what I paid for it four years earlier, and that was with the $1K deductible subtracted.

You didn't indicate the year, but mine was 2016. Got $34K and had paid a little less than that four years ago.

Also, it has been a strain without my own vehicle this whole time! Fortunately, I have a friend who lent me his truck off and on until my new one arrives. Hopefully sooner than mid-February when it's supposed to come.

Are you really though? Do you realize that with every totaled Taco, the value of our trucks goes up a few cents

What I want to know is what kind of magnet Toyota uses that only attracts Tacomas to hit Tacomas. I feel there is a conspiracy here. I would have gone straight to 7/11 and bought power ball. You chances of hitting your same model vehicle on a highway is pretty low.

Update it was totaled, I negotiated $50k settlement, with 2800miles on it. That wasn’t the first offer, it was the second. Pretty happy with how a crappy situation turned out. Don’t know how easy a DCLB will be to replace but I can wait for the right one.

Did they say what the salvage value is if you wanted to buy the truck?

Yep, I was guessing it was totaled. Glad you were not hurt. Hopefully $50k will get you a replacement!
